Karen Schneeman : Starting Mon.May 27th Memorial Day,Walmart will offer a job to any Veteran who has been honorably discharged within the past 12 months.Hopefully more offers like that will make a dent in the suicides do to PTS syndrome.There were 349 deaths in 2012 due to this affliction.That like one a day.WTF.Went to Wall of Hereos in Woodbury.Very moving ceremony.Very hard to explain how I felt.Next year my hero will be on that wall.Thanks again to all military women and men past and present for protecting my grandchildren.God Bless You All.

Tracy VFW Post #1537 : Here is the scheduled Tracy Memorial ceremonies and work details for this weekend. We can use help at every one of these events:

May 25, Saturday, 0800, You can help Scouts and citizens place American flags at every Veterans headstones at the Tracy cemetery, at each headstone there is a salute given to the deceased Veteran. Also, I will have donut's, juice and water there. Wear your Post service cap to show your a Veteran.

May 26, Sunday, 1800 hours, Remove the large American flags from the City storage building and load them in my pickup, located at 6th Street east of Tracy Blvd..

May 26, Sunday, 1800 hours, the ladies Auxiliaries will be preparing the food and setting up the America Legion hall for after the Memorial Day ceremonies. Please help anyone that can assist the Auxiliaries.

May 27, Monday, 0630 hours, Need Members to help place large American flags at the Tracy cemetery Avenue of Flags, and at 1700 hours we take flags down and return them back to the City storage.

May 27, Monday, 1000 hours get there before 0930 hours, Memorial Day observance at the Tracy cemetery, Dress Class A, Post cap, Blue Jacket White shirt, Gray slacks & Black shoes. Memorial Day Speaker is Congressman Jeff Denham, 10th District of California, member of the committee on Veterans Affairs, Veteran of U.S. Air Force, life member of the VFW. Right afterward ceremonies at Tracy War Memorial, 9th St. & East St... Need members at both events for Honor Guard posting flags and Honor Guard for 21 gun salute at both locations, and Please help with set up & take down. Refreshments at the American Legion Post after the ceremonies.

Then was asked if I would make 100 pink survival bracelets for the Women Veteran Banquet in August. Good thing I have a couple of months to get them done!
