Kaboutjie (Pty) Ltd : ANON:I have abit of a prob with my little girl she's 15 days old and at night between the times 10pm and 1am she's extremely cranky. And upset and screams and cries and just won't calm down . I don't know if its her winds or what it is but she does feed properly but I'm scared to feed her too much and the winds build up more. Her mouth is also very purple and I know that's winds. But in the day she sleeps fine and is well behaved. I need some feedback on what I could try and do to help her as It breaks my heart to see her so upset.

Breastfeeding/Mama Talk : MQ: I tried to go to the grocery store with my infant and she started crying I ended up in the bathroom nursing in the big stall I never thought I would feel the way I did. I feel really ashamed and embarrassed about nursing in front of people. I have always been really modest. I feel like I can't go anywhere with my baby. I know this is all new and it should get better I don't want to give up on breastfeeding. I want to bad to give her any head start on life & good health. I was really defeated the first 4 days she was born bc my milk wasn't in then it came in and I felt great then she started eating so much so often that I feel like I can't keep up and I am feeding her every hour or less and she is still hungry like nothing is coming out. Yesterday and the day before was awful and today it was a little better I hope it keeps getting better. I am just starting out and what a learning curve this motherhood thing is. Does it get better after a certain number of weeks of breastfeeding? Or do some people just struggle the whole time?

Virginia Maddock : Keanu has been so cute with role playing today. This morning he was cuddling his fluffy toy caterpillar then he would do the milk sign and pretend to breastfeed it, then give it to me and do the milk sign so i could breastfeed it. This caused lots of laughter and we went back and forth about 5 times.
Then a bit later he brought his doll into the bathroom and put her on the potty and did the poo sign and said "Yay" then wiped her bum with toilet paper.
He is soooo cute!!! I love this age.

I breastfeed and cosleep and I love it! But my fiance resents it. We fight about me "spoiling" our 3 month old all of the time. He will also only nap when held. Is it time to "cut the cord" and if so how do I do it? If not how do I make both of my men happy? Thanks!

Miracle Babies Foundation : INCREASING BREAST FEEDS AND FEELING PRESSURED TO VISIT

"My 26 weeker is still in NICU (39 weeks tomorrow) and the nurses want me to come in more often for breastfeeds. Obviously I know why they want me to, but I feel like I am being guilted and pressured into it. We live 40min from the hospital and visit every night for a few hours already. The nurses tell us "you can just catch the train in", but it's not that easy. Did anyone else feel pressured to visit more often?" Melissa

Latching With Love : It's not fair that the military hospitals provide limited lactation services and NO breastpumps to active military but WIC moms have access to pumps from the top manufactures, lactation educators and consultants! grrr! Isn't our government in charge of both? Is Medi-Cal the "golden child" and is our military families and their hospitals the "black sheep"?!?! This has just come to my attention from a military mom, with a 2-week old who delivered at Camp Pendleton, Oceanside, Ca. Her baby wasn't latching well in the hospital and saw an LC who didn't resolve the latch. once home there is no out-patient breastfeeding clinic(opposed to the eight WIC clinics in North San Diego)and no hospital pumps to stimulate and maintain her supply until the latch issue resolves. She was pumping with a Walmart pump she bought herself, until it died 2 days ago. Anyone know of breastfeeding assistance and closed-system pump rentals/sales for active military?
If there are no resources then our Surgeon General and President may be getting a letter from one angry lactation consultant!

I mean when all grow up and are adults whats the difference Im just curious, I was not breastfed but my daughter was by me. Breast is Best : Fan Question: I need some help. My son is 11 months old and still breast feeding. When my milk first came in I had tons, almost too much. Then at 8 weeks they put me on a low grade birth control that hurt my milk supply. I started taking fenugreek which helped some. I've since stopped taking any oral or hormone birth controls and am using phisical barier forms of bc. Which my husband is supportive of if it helps my milk and our baby. But my milk has seemed to cap off. Like its not increasing no matter how much I pump and feed and take fenugreek. I also recently came back to work. I'm a paramedic so I work 24 and off 48. My husband brings my son by the station the evenings that I work so I still get to cuddle at work and li look at pictures when I pump. I'm so frustrated and don't want to give up bf since we have come this far. The only other real support I have is my sister, but she has never had any supply issues. Also, everyone is incuraging me to start weaning him at 1 yr. I don't want to stop but I don't really have any literature or anything to incourage ppl that it is normal. I wouldn't mind at home because my business is private, but at work I'll have a hard time. My husband works at the same place and says he will support me whatever I decide. I'm just having a hard time since we mork with mostly guys and a lot of them don't have kids. I need help figuring our what to do other than just fenugreek. Are their foods that encourage milk supply? Also I'm on prenatal vitamins and calcium supplement everyday. Sorry I rambled, it's just really frustrating without a lot of local support.

Help!!!! My first baby is 3 1/2 months old and has had a terrible cough, snotty nose and sometimes even chokes since she was born. She has only ever had my milk..I pump and feed her by bottle. The peds. Have told me over and over it's just a cold and maybe mild reflux. She sounds terrible all the time, cough like a barking dog and so congested! She has starting spitting up more and more. Anybody experienced anything similar? Does reflux meds help? Or just a cold for sooo long? No fever at all. I'm sooo tired on hearing her like this. Breaks my heart!

My so just told me today tht i will only breastfeed our daughter fir 6 months.. she will be here here in august i wanted to breastfeed up to a year or when she gets teeth, he said "no" tht i will stop when she is 6 months, because it is recommended by the dr.s and all the research hes done says to stop breast feeding at 6 months. Wht can i do to convince him this is my second baby his first my first is 5 years old and i breast-fed him for 3 months my supply went down 󾌣 with him. I really want to breastfeed my 2 nd for a year but idk wht to tell him and wht to do he is headstrong ;(

Please help 󾌣 my baby is only 10 days old and already i want to give up on nursing. He wasn't gaining weight so the doctor told me to pump and bottle feed since he seemed to get more this way, but I have two other children that need my time and attention, I can't spend my whole day in my room pumping. I didn't bf either one of my older kids and really wanted to give it a try but I'm having a really hard time. I cry constantly and feel so guilty that I want to quit already. Also, I do smoke, so I am feeling guilt that nicotine and harmful chemicals might be getting into my milk.... For this reason wouldn't formula be better?

I am taking my 4 month old to the doctor next week for her 4 month checkup, she is due for her 4 month vaccines which I am really unsure about! I hear there good I hear there bad, I just read that some vaccines are now labeled as a chance of SIDs, I have read that children who breastfeed grew up and had tests done and were immune to everything without getting vaccinated EVER. As you can see I am so lost! I am terrified to vaccinate and terrified not to vaccinate. I have. 4 year old who is happy and healthy and got all her vaccines, but having her has completely changed me, over the years I have gotten more and more organic!!! Now were full blown organic and totally questioning vaccines. Please help!! I need stories and opinions please, thank u! :)

This Milk Matters: Lactation Support Group : FanQ: I am going to be having a baby girl this august. I have two sons 12 and 8 already. I didn't breastfeed them. This one I wanted to I was curious what the best soothers are for breastfeeding my best friend just had a baby and she's breastfeeding and she said her boobs are on fire and her nipples hurt so bad. I am nervous. What if I don't do it right or I can't get her to latch on or its too painful? I don't want to formula feed, I feel breastfeeding is the way to go for us. I'm just looking for a little reassurance and pointers to get her to latch and some ideas of what to buy or have at the hospital and at home for when I do start feeling the pain of breast feeding.
