Jim Cox : This Saturday, July 26th please join us in Coon Valley for TroutFest. Fun run starts at 8:00, kids free fishing at 10:00. Fish related venders, River Allience, TU Dare, DNR, fly tying, many kids events, bobber races, car show, plenty of music and food. Free event. Sponsored by the Coulee Region Trout Unlimited and Coon Valley Business Association. Check Facebook and Coon valley Troutfest web site. Thanks and hope to see you there. Jim Cox

Goxsheim : Last afternoon and this morning was a true zoological experience. In a rather small area we were pretty close to 4-5 whales (maybe mink whales and fin whales), a big colony of seals (do not know what kind), harbour porpoises, some dolphins, 2 HUGE sea eagles, reindeer, birds of different kinds - and plenty of fish under the keel. Grey and foggy weather though made the photographic conditions not too good.

Linn Steward : Newly minted Maine chef spreads word on sustainable seafood - The Portland Press Herald / Maine... Two concepts coming out of this profile on Barton Seaver "community-based conservation" and “storied seafood" telling the stories of plentiful but unknown fish, eating just enough protein, filling the rest of the plate with vegetables, and supporting the community you live in.

Kealoha Kahunaaina Iona : Tim Sakahara, Hawaii News Now again.
the first time they wanted us to believe it was NATURAL all though some of us, like me and my families, have lived on the beaches in Hawaii for years and years at a time as subsistence fishermen.
now they want us to believe that it was runoff that killed all this fish from the heavy rains. AS IF IT IS THE FIRST TIME EVER WE HAD HEAVE RAINS AND POISONOUS RUNOFF.
the State of Hawaii counts on the ignorant. the Majority.

Markos Mitsos : Timeline Photos The unannounced visitor from today's dive offshore Ilha do Pico, Azores with CW Azores:
A MASSIVE (in the truest sense of the word) female Shortfin or Longfin (should know soon) Mako Shark estimated at easily 13-14 ft. and 1,000 lbs. The blue sharks, which disappeared immediately, looked like toothpicks next to her.
Reportedly the largest Mako ever seen by dive operators in Pico, this enormous shark rocketed from the blue below and swam among us until we ended our dive - in minutes ;-). She was so big at first I thought she was a Great White Shark (a close cousin).
The Mako is the top predator in the pelagic (offshore) marine habitat, preying on a variety of big fish (tuna, billfish, etc.) and even marine mammals. And this place has plenty of both.
Unfortunately, sharks like this are becoming harder and harder to find because of fishing. I have to say it's the most impressive shark I've ever seen, and this encounter ranks as one of my top experiences in 3,000 dives in 22 years.
Truly spectacular - check out the mating scars. The head is pretty much all teeth.

Michael Duclos : Hi all. Looking to offload my gladiator egi equip 702 rod. Has been well loved with plenty of squid caught but it's time to move on. The rod itself is in great condition. It has a couple of minor marks. The most marred area is one side of the stripper guide where I hang the jigs from. Otherwise the rod is in really good used condition. I'll sell it for $70 pickup.
The other one whilst not fishing related does keep the beers cold haha. VB promo vending machine fridge. Loaded with beer (not a huge fan of VB) $250 pickup noble park north.
