GOOGLE™ SORT LA DÉCO ARC-EN-CIEL POUR LE MOIS DES GAY PRIDES Par Paul Parant jeudi 21 juin 2012, à 12h09 COMME LES ANNÉES PRÉCÉDENTES, LE MOTEUR DE RECHERCHE AFFICHE SON SOUTIEN – TROP DISCRET POUR CERTAINS – AUX LGBT LORSQU'ON EFFECTUE DES RECHERCHES LIÉES À L'ÉGALITÉ DES DROITS. C'est presque devenu une tradition: chaque année depuis au moins 2008, au mois de juin, parfois surnommé « mois des fiertés » (« Pride month ») aux Etats-Unis, Google™ affiche un petit geste de soutien envers la communauté LGBT (voir l'historique ci-dessus). Depuis quelques jours en effet, chaque fois qu'on tape un mot anglais lié au combat des minorités sexuelles (on peut taper, pour essayer, les mots gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, LGBT, gay pride, queer, homosexual, Stonewall, drag queen ou drag king, marriage equality), le site affiche une discrète série de fannions aux couleurs du rainbow flag – à noter que même si l'effet fonctionne bien sur Google.fr™ http://www.google.fr/ , l'effet ne fonctionne pas en tapant la traduction française de ces mots. PAS DE « DOODLE » Un effet très subtil, donc. Cette discrétion a d'ailleurs été reprochée au moteur de recherche, de la part de militants qui auraient préféré un véritable «doogle», les fameuses images, souvent animées, dédiées à un événement qui ornent la page d'accueil du site à la place du traditionnel logo. « C'est décevant de la part de Google™, a ainsi déclaré http://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2011/06/googles-disappointing-decision-to-hide-its-support-of-gay-pride/240707/ Nicholas Jackson, auteur spécialiste des technologies pour le site The Atlantic.
