Toshodai-ji 唐招提寺
Toshodai-ji Temple  is the temple which the model truth in Gojo-cho, Nara-shi erected.
It is the head temple of a Buddhist sect of the Ritsu sect that is one of six Southern capital sects.
As for the principal idol, ushana-butsu, the open basis (a founder) are the model truth.
The novel China, Tang Buddhist priest model truth of Yasushi Inoue whom it came to be known to widely in "iraka of the Tenbyo era" from is the temple which spent later years and has many cultural assets including an inner temple of the erection, a lecture hall in the Nara era.
Toshodai-ji Temple is registered with a world heritage as some cultural assets of ancient city Nara from the UNESCO in 1998.
A Tang monk, the model truth obtained (759 years), a former house trace of the His Imperial Highness Prince new Tabe (Prince Emperor Tenmu seventh) by transfer from the Imperial Court for Tenpyohoji era three years, and, according to "the day biographies of an emperor sequel to", Toshodai-ji Temple did it with a temple.
"Shodai" of the temple name was a word to express "every direction" meaning to "be wide" in Chinese derived from Sanskrit originally, but was used as a "temple, 寺" "House, 院" "monastery, 精舎" "Ranjaku, 蘭若", to point to the chaitya (private temple) as well as .
In other words the title of Buddhist temple called Toshodai-ji Temple is implication called "the temples for Tang monk Ganjin Buddhist priests".
A visit to Japan of the model truth and the transmission of religious precepts
About the life of the model truth (688 years -763 year), detailed in "great master biography" which omoikotozuke of the pupil who joined Japan wrote down, "todaiwajo-toseiden" of Mifune Oumino made from it, picture scroll "Tosei-eden" reaching the temple, "iraka of the Tenbyo era" of Yasushi Inoue.
The model truth was invited as a "head priest" "teacher of Denkai(conveys religious precepts)" who granted religious precepts to a scholar of Buddhism by Japan.
"The religious precepts" mean the "model" "rule" that the member of the Buddhism religious community should follow in everyday life, and there are "commandments for completeness" to grant to "Bosatsu-kai" to grant to a general Buddhism believer and an official Buddhist priest.
At the place called "the ordination platform", as for the thing of three Rev. and seven Rev. proof (the learned and virtuous priest of a position making sure of a call in a ceremony of jukai) of Jukai called "the identification of Rev. three seven", it must receive "commandments for completeness" so that a person of priest became an official Buddhist priest, but the Buddhist priest with jukai-shikaku lacked it without the system of such official jukai being maintained in those days in Japan of (the early eighth century).
Therefore priest profit becoming a bonze without permission from the authorities monks to save you increased personally without passing through approval of kan, and it was, and the person that it was with a becoming a bonze without permission from the authorities monk for an assigned task exemption was connected for disorder of the social order.
There was toto studying abroad monk called Fusho(普照) and Eiei(栄叡) which it did with (733 years), an envoy to the Tang Dynasty for Tenpyo era 5 years while it did it this way.
It was about October, 742 in the Christian era that they encountered the learned and virtuous priest model truth for the first time in Daimei temple of Yangchow (existing Jiangsu).
Because there wasn't a teacher of official Denkai in Japan, Fusho(普照) and Eiei(栄叡)  reported to the model truth when they please recommended a proper learned and virtuous priest.
Pupils of the model truth refused a visit to Japan by the reason of the danger of the voyage.
It decides that the model truth that knew that there isn't a person with the will of the visit to Japan to the house of pupils visits Japan by oneself.
However, the then voyage risked death, and there was already the power to object to for the departure of the model truth that had high name as a learned and virtuous priest in Tang.
Therefore the model truth, Fusho(普照), the voyage plan of Eiei(栄叡)  and others were a series of failures.
Sometimes Fusho(普照) and Eiei(栄叡)  were arrested by the secret information of the person concerned before starting a ship, and sometimes a ship was wrecked.
For 748 years, it was caught in a storm by the fifth voyage plan, and a ship drifted and has been drained to the southernmost Hainan Island of China.
Eiei(栄叡)  which shared an action died of an illness till then, and, on the way to land route Yangchow, Shogen of the best disciple died, and model truth oneself tasted hardship to go blind.
For 753 years, it finally succeeded in a visit to Japan by the sixth voyage plan, but the model truth already became 66 years old in those days.
It rode with an envoy to the Tang Dynasty ship, and the model truth that struck Satsuma (753 years) via Ryukyu in December for Tenbyoshoho era five years finally struck Naniwa-tsu (Osaka) (754 years) in February for Tenpyoshoho era 6 years, the following day.
In April of the year, it granted Bosatsu-kai to Shomu-taijo Emperor, Komyo Empress Dowager, Emperor Koken and others in front of the Todai-ji Temple Hall of the Great Buddha and granted commandments for completeness to a Buddhist acolyte, a Buddhist priest.
After having lived at the House of Todai-ji Temple Tang Zen between five years in the first half in ten years of the later years that it spent in Japan, the model truth was given the ground of present Toshodai-ji Temple like (759 years), the said article for Tenbyohoji era three years.
It was appointed by a chief abbot, and the model truth given an honorific title on the Yamato later closed a life of the disturbance (763 years) in Japan in May for Tenbyohoji era seven years.
It was calendar year 76.

Yakushi-ji 薬師寺
Yakushi-ji Temple  is a temple located in the Nara-shi, Nara Nishinokyo-cho, and it is great Honzan of the Hosso-shu sect with Kofuku-ji Temple.
It is counted in one of 7 Southern capital cathedrals.
As for the principal idol, Yakushinyorai(The Buddha of Healing), the open basis (a founder) are the Emperor Tenmu, Dosho, Gien.
It is registered with a world heritage as some cultural assets of ancient city Nara from the UNESCO in 1998.
The master of existing Kanshu is Hoin Yamada (August, 2009 arrival at post).
The history
Building was started in the place of Fujiwara-kyo (Kashihara-shi, Kidono, Nara Pref. for Emperor Tenmu nine years by (680 years), request for departure from of the Emperor Tenmu, and Yakushi-ji Temple moved to Nishinokyo of the present location in the early eighth century after the Heijo removal of the capital.
But it is considered that the Buddhist monastery of Yakushi-ji Temple (this Yakushi-ji Temple, 34°29'N 33.88 seconds 135°48'E 0.95 seconds) of Asuka continued sequentially until the about tenth century.
The foundation
It prays an article for the disease recovery of the Uno Sagara (Unonosarara) empress that the Emperor Tenmu is the later Emperor Jitou (680 years) on November 12 for "Japanese Chronicle of Japan" Emperor Tenmu nine years, and hatsugan does erection of Yakushi-ji Temple, and there is it when it let it gets a 100 monk and do a degree (a priest).
However, the Emperor Tenmu died (686 years) in the one of the four gods first year without watching the completion of the temple, and the Buddhist monastery maintenance was succeeded to the Emperor Jitou, charges of the Emperor Monmu.
"An east tower, for "enthronement eight years of the Emperor (Tenmu) who governed all over Japan, have begun to make this Buddhist monastery because of the disease of the honorific term for empress, for dowager empress, for grand-dowager empress (the Emperor Jitou) in a year of Kotatsu, but a meaning completed an ex-Emperor (Jito) following the will is written down in the Kiyohara-no-miya for a signature" because passed away before is completed".
It points to the age here same as "Emperor Tenmu nine years" of "the Chronicle of Japan" for "Emperor enthronement eight years in Kotatsu".
In other words, "the Chronicle of Japan" assumes (equal to Jinshin, Christian era 672 years) the Emperor Tenmu first year in the next year when the Emperor Tenji died, but it counts it from a year of the enthronement, and "Emperor enthronement eight years" when it is in the next year that Tenmu succeeded to the throne formally (equal to Christian era 673 years) are meanings called the eighth year .
"The Chronicle of Japan" shows that an event called Musha-aie was carried out in (688 years), Yakushi-ji Temple for Emperor Jitou two years, and it is just, and it seems that a Buddhist monastery was set to some extent these days.
According to "Shoku-Nihongi", the building of the temple is almost completed for (698 years) for Emperor Monmu two years and lets a Buddhist priest live.
There was this foundation Yakushi-ji Temple in the place of Ukyo Article 8 Sanbo of Kyo Fujiwara.
A temple trace is left in Mount Unebi of Yamato Miyama and Kidonocho, Kashihara-shi equal to the middle of Kaguyama and is appointed as "Moto-Yakushi-ji Temple  trace" on a special historic spot.
Yakushi-ji Temple moved to two Ukyo Article 6 Bo (the present location) facing the Article 6 main thoroughfare of Heijokyo on the occasion of the removal of the capital to Heijokyo of (710 years) afterwards from Asuka for Wado three years.
According to the place where "Yakushi-ji Temple omen" of the establishment told (1015) for Chowa 4 years, the time of the move was for Yoro 2 years (718 years).
But the building is considered to have begun slightly than Yoro 2 years early because the narrow strip of wood with message with mention of (716 years) is excavated from the Heijo Yakushi-ji Temple precincts for sacred carapace of a tortoise two years.
An article has it (730 years) with "shiyakushijihigashitoritsu" on March 29 for "Fuso-ryakki description" Tenpyo era two years, and it is in the year that an east tower (a triple tower) was completed, and it seems that building continued until that time.
In addition, after a move to Heijokyo, Yakushi-ji Temple (this Yakushi-ji Temple) of Asuka continued for a while.
It seemed to continue from a result of historical materials and the excavation to the middle of Heian era, the about tenth century, but became the abandoned temple later.
The cornerstone of an inner temple, the east tower, the foundation stone for a main pillar of the west tower are left to this Yakushi-ji Temple trace.
It is central, and the Buddhist monastery placement of this Yakushi-ji Temple posts a lecture hall in a gate built between the main gate and the main house of the palace-styled architecture in the Fujiwara period, the rear with a thing named "Yakushi-ji Temple-style Buddhist monastery placement" on an inner temple, this side and puts a tower to the east and west for the sake of an inner temple.
And the corridor which appeared from gate built between the main gate and the main house of the palace-styled architecture in the Fujiwara period right and left reaches right and left of the lecture hall, and an inner temple, both East-West towers are surrounded in a corridor.
This Buddhist monastery placement is followed in Heijo Yakushi-ji Temple.
The scale of the building of both Buddhist monasteries, the position relations are approximately equal and, by this Yakushi-ji Temple, excavation of the both Heijo Yakushi-ji Temple, understand that it was going to reproduce a Buddhist monastery of this Yakushi-ji Temple in Heijo Yakushi-ji Temple.
But the scale of the gate built between the main gate and the main house of the palace-styled architecture in the Fujiwara period is extended in Heijo Yakushi-ji Temple, and, as for the corridor, width is widened.
Yakushiji of Heijokyo lost many buildings in flames of war of Junko Tsutsui of (1528) in fire and the Kyoroku first year of (973 years) for happiness given by Heaven four years.
The building of the Nara era leaves an east tower now.
The inner temple, the east tower, the west tower remained unburned by the fire of happiness given by Heaven four years, but lecture hall, priests' living quarters, South Gate were burnt.
As a result of excavation, it excavates ceramics of Nara era and Tang Era considered that Buddhist priests used it from the ruins of west priests' living quarters a lot, and it is considered that it falls in the case of the fire for happiness given by Heaven four years from a shelf and was able to be buried among the under the ground.
It is the thing which an east tower in Yakushi-ji Temple of Heijokyo and a principal idol the Physician of Souls, the Saint of the Sun and the Saint of the Moon image were moved to by this Yakushiji of Asuka, or there is a debate since the Meiji era whether it is a thing made newly in Heijokyo.
By the present of the 21st century the east tower in Heijokyo it almost became the common view to be new, but the debate wasn't completely settled.
Because there is mention of the purpose "that there are four towers and hits it to Yakushi-ji Temple, and there is as for two to a record for coming generations inventory of a temple in the Nara era quoted in "Yakushi-ji Temple source" of the establishment in the eleventh century in the main hall of a temple", and it is interpreted until the time that there is by Heijo and both Yakushi-ji Temple of Asuka when there were two towers each, Ko Adachi, the Koichi Machida and others do this with one of the grounds of non-removing and rebuilding theory.
Because the trace that it dismantles it from the other place and removed and rebuilt isn't seen in an existing east tower, new construction and an opinion to watch become the common view according to the description of "the Fuso sketchy description" (730 years) about the east tower for Tenbyo era two years after the Heijo move.
But it excavates the tile of an old style like being excavated from this Yakushi-ji Temple from the precincts of Heijo Yakushi-ji Temple, and, in the west tower, there is the opinion which was removing and rebuilding from Asuka .
As a result of excavation, what a thing planned as a single corridor (two lines of pillars) at first designs the corridor of Heijo Yakushi-ji Temple to double corridors (three lines of pillars two lines of passages) on the way, and was changed becomes clear.
From this, there is the opinion which it plans the thing which was going to remove and rebuild part of building of this Yakushi-ji Temple on the way at first and might change.
There are the construction after the Heijo move and the opinion to do from an aspect of a style and the casting technique mainly while it makes much of the description ("the Chronicle of Japan") that "Musyadaie was performed in (688 years), Yakushi-ji Temple for Emperor Jitou two years" of the description about the inner temple principal idol the Physician of Souls, the Saint of the Sun and the Saint of the Moon image and is done  by this year, and there is an opinion moved to Heijo Yakushi-ji Temple later, and the end doesn't stick.
An inner temple of the latter term temporary rebuilding (we had the rebuilding theories in rebuilding theory and 1676 conventionally in 1600), a lecture hall were built in Yakushi-ji Temple until the mid-20th century in the Edo era, and the thing to have a Buddhist monastery at the time of the foundation in was only the east tower which remained unburned.
West tower, a gate built between the main gate and the main house of the palace-styled architecture in the Fujiwara period, a part of the corridor, a grand hall were rebuilt including known Koin Takada (Takada arrest) played a key role as the popular pipe head, and the Hakuho Buddhist monastery reconstruction contracts by the copying of a sutra mendicant were pushed forward after the 1960s, and an inner temple having been rebuilt in 1976 in sequence.
In the rebuilding, an opinion of Takuichi Takeshima (former Nagoya Institute of Technology) who insisted with Tsunekazu Nishioka of the carpenter specializing in building shrines and temples who insisted when "iron lasted, and the wood (a hinoki) corroded it from the part for around several hundred years when it had for 1,000 years and used iron" when "steel reinforced concrete reinforcement was desirable from the viewpoint of typhoon and earthquake, cultural properties protection from a fire" collided.
A result, the inner sanctum of the inner temple assumed it steel reinforced concrete and it reduced it as much as possible, and the west tower raised use of iron approximately 30 cm in consideration of the dry shrinkage of the wood from an east tower and was rebuilt.
In addition, the old inner temple which was Irimoya is removed and rebuilt now as Yosemune(a temporary middle inner temple) of Kofuku-ji Temple, and it is remodeled into the hip roof, and the eaves of the front part are taken away and it is big and changes the appearance and exists.
