Westminster Confession of Faith Chapter 17 - Of the Perseverance of the Saints
[Source: http://www.reformed.org/documents/wcf_with_proofs/]

I. They, whom God has accepted in His Beloved, effectually called, and sanctified by His Spirit, can neither totally nor finally fall away from the state of grace, but shall certainly persevere therein to the end, and be eternally saved.[1]

II. This perseverance of the saints depends not upon their own free will, but upon the immutability of the decree of election, flowing from the free and unchangeable love of God the Father;[2] upon the efficacy of the merit and intercession of Jesus Christ,[3] the abiding of the Spirit, and of the seed of God within them,[4] and the nature of the covenant of grace:[5] from all which arises also the certainty and infallibility thereof.[6]

III. Nevertheless, they may, through the temptations of Satan and of the world, the prevalency of corruption remaining in them, and the neglect of the means of their preservation, fall into grievous sins;[7] and, for a time, continue therein:[8] whereby they incur God's displeasure,[9] and grieve His Holy Spirit,[10] come to be deprived of some measure of their graces and comforts,[11] have their hearts hardened,[12] and their consciences wounded;[13] hurt and scandalize others,[14] and bring temporal judgments upon themselves.[15]

The Most Underrated Player Of All Time: Carmelo Anthony (My Unpopular Opinion)

When talking about some of the most overrated player's of all time a name that seem's to always come up is. Carmelo Anthony, people have this idea of Melo that. He doesn't play defence, he doesn't make teammates better and he is a loser. As in if you want him on you're team you're no gonna win. I disagree with Carmelo being overrated completely.

Let's start off with some of the teammates that have teammates that have surrounded Carmelo. He had Chauncey Billups from (2009 - 2011) who to be completely honest was kinda out of his prime, Kenyon Martin from (2005 - 2011) who really wasn't a scorer. Jr Smith before he was 6th man of the year Jr Smith. In Denver, then 6th man of the year Jr. Smith then Jr. Smith that fell off a cliff. Nene you knwo ok. But you wanna know what Carmelo Anthony was able to do with these guys?

He was able to lead the to a 43-39 Record in his rookie season, something that LeBron couldn't do. Even tho on paper LeBron has the better team in his rookie season. A 49-33 record straight after that season, then a 44-38 record. A 45-37 record, 50-32 record in 07-08, a 54-28 record to which he lead the Nuggets all the way to the WCF to loss to the Lakers in 6 hard fought games. And during his final full season with Denver a 53-29 record.

All together Carmelo Anthony with the Nuggets has a 338 - 198. With his full 8 season with the Nuggets he lead them to 8 straight playoff birth and 1 WCF. Wait doesn't KG get praise for leading his TWolves to 8 straight playoff births and 1 WCF? You look at it from a side by side version Melo lead his team to more playoff birth's (in a shorter time period than KG's) as well as leading his team to a WCF. Minus an MVP trophy, Melo did everything KG did in his TWolve's days. But statically he did better than Garnett. And before someone pulls up on how bad KG's teammates were, to credit Mike Korzemba's video. Carmelo Anthony teammates with him made a combined 2 All Star's. That's right in Carmelo Anthony's Denver Career, no scratch that entire career. He had played with 2 fellow all star on his team. KG? 3 all stars before being traded to the Celtics. That all star Chancy Billups and AI. 2 Great Guard's but both past their prime at this point. People like to talk about LeBron for 2003 - 2010 carried the Cavaliers, KG from 1995 - 2007 carried the TWolves with a horribly run front office. When Carmelo has done that too, just had more success leading his team in just 8 year's. Compared to 2003 - 2010 LeBron's. 7 and KG's 10 Years. Yet for some reason people seem to ignore how Carmelo Anthony did this, but was arguably not a top 5 player in the league. Defiantly Top 10 at the time, but not top 5. During their time's both KG and LeBron were Top 5 Players. I don't think Melo was ever considered a Top 5 player in the league until 2012 - 2013. So let me get this straight a non- top 5 player in the league was able to lead his team to more playoff births and win's (In 8 Season's). Yet was not a Top 5 player in the league compared to KG and LeBron who were.

And for those who want to blame Melo for the Knicks struggle's ever since coming their. Remember this he has played with 2 Career all star's. Both were on the Nuggets, not the Knicks. So who's fault is it. To within 7 about to be 8 Year's. Fault is it? Also let this be known, Melo for the year 2011 - 2014 led the Knicks to 3 straight playoff birth's. And 3 straight winning records. When Phil Jackson joined they have 0 in 3 about to be 4 year's. So can you really blame Carmelo? Really.

Common Arguments

- I swear, I might go crazy the next time a person bring's up the Top 4 most overrated by Legend Of Winning. To were he stated on why Melo was overrated. The main reason's was he was an overrated scorer. Never averaging 30 Points in a season and only leading the league in PPG once. Along with him averaging more TO's than Ast's some season and being an awful defender.

Low no hate. But these are awful reason's. Let's start off with the "Melo is an overrated scorer". Since when does leading the League in PPG. Determine if you're a good scorer or not? Since when did we all determine that as a thing. If were going by that logic then all these player's like Dirk Nowitzki, Tim Duncan, Paul Pierce and even modern day players like James Harden. Are all overrated scorers, why? Because they've all never averaged 30 Points in a season. And as for "only leading the league in scoring once" piss off with that too. Then that means players LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and ect. Are overrated scores for only leading the league in Points ONCE. Is this really the logic of a person who claimed Melo as "overrated" used?

- As for his defence, Melo has always been a below average defender. I'm not gonna say something like "He is his team entire offence, he takes a break on defence". Something like a Mike Korzemba would say. But I'm going to be upfront about it. Melo is a below average defender, decent at best. But I'm not going to like, watch Melo this season and old Melo on the Nuggets or his earlier days on the Knicks. He is not as bad as people will tell you. His 1on1 defence is actually pretty solid. And all round he probably is on the fence ok being an ok defender. I"m not gonna say Melo is "Taking a break on D, because he is the teams offence". Or he is not as bad as people think he is. But I'm gonna be upfront about it he is actually pretty solid. Not great or good but solid on defence.

But my question is why do we give so many player's a pass for their defence? Magic Johnson who I will say Melo is a better defender than Magic. Never seem's to get as much if not any crap for his below average defence. Yet for some reason, despite Melo being better statically and the eye test wise. People say he is overrated because of his defence and Magic is a GOAT PG or Top 2-5. We give Magic so many passes for his awful defence, yet none for Melo? Their are plenty more example's I could you use. But for the sake of this post being a little for shorter. I'm gonna move on.

- For those who think Melo can't make his teammates better. Why did Jr. Smith average 18 Points and win 6th Man Of The Year with Melo on the roster? Why is Derrick Rose averaging 18 Points on 47% FG while averaging 19.6 Points for 3 Months. The Best PPG and FG% as well as PER at 16.2 (Above average for a PG) since his injuries, which would of ended most NBA players careers. With Carmelo Anthony? Why is KP development going faster than people expected, with Melo on the roster. If you look back KP gives a lot of credit to Melo for what he is able to do. Why did Tyson Chandler win a Defensive Player Of The Year Award? With Melo on the roster. I'm just saying Melo ain't no LeBron James when i comes to making teammates better. But, some of these guys mentioned on this list, would not have accomplished what they've done without Melo's help. Sure on the court, it might not look like it. But off the court it's a whole other story.

- As for the finale common argument about how Melo for some season's has more TO's than Asts. Like I said he ain't no LeBron Jame's, but Oh my god. It''s literally a .1 and .2 difference. A .1 and .2 difference that's like saying a guy who averages 28.2 Points compared to a guy who averages 28 Points is a better scorer. Without looking at everything else their is too look at. I'm not gonna give excuses for this, but it's a .1 and .2 difference it's not that big of a deal.

And this is why I believe Carmelo Anthony is the most underrated player of all time.
