My parents raised me to be generous whenever possible and to give from the heart. That morsel of wisdom was later reaffirmed when I adopted my fraternity's motto to "Give, expecting nothing thereof." I live by that advice and those words and I find that it's made me a happier person. I do things for people around me, because I want to and because it comes natural to me and not for any expectation of a returned favor. With that in mind, I was pleasantly surprised with the gesture from four of my friends last week, when they gave me a 'thank you' gift. It was completely unexpected when Laura gave me the box and told me it was a gift from the girls. I was shocked and didn't understand why they'd gone to those lengths for me. After explaining why they got me a "little something", I'm not ashamed to say that I teared up. I was very moved by their act of kindness. I'm not used to getting gifts other than on special occasions, so this was a new for me. Laura wanted me to open it immediately. In fact she offered to open it several times, but I refused. I told her that there was nothing in that box that could be worth more than what the gesture meant to me. I could have kept that box forever and never opened it, but the fear of Miss Lau kicking my butt for not opening it won out. Like I said before, it didn't matter what was in the box because the gesture was priceless, but let me tell you how surprised I was when I saw what was inside. As a Texas-Ex, I can appreciate any UT swag given to me, but the autographed Vince Young football and tshirt they gave me, just floored me! I even had to ask if the gift was really intended for me. I loved it and once again, I teared up. Lol. Thank you Hallah, Erica, Sarah and Adri for the super awesome gifts and card! You shouldn't have, but I'm so glad you did. That autographed VY football now sits proudly on my mantle, not just as a token of appreciation from friends to a friend, but as a symbol confirming that to "Give, expecting nothing thereof" isn't just a clever motto, but golden words to live by and proof that the efforts those words inspire, don't go unnoticed by those around you. God Bless! #HookEm #PhiKappaTheta #MyAmigas #VY

Michigan, Texas announce 2-game football deal

Texas and Michigan, whose only previous meeting was in the 2005 Rose Bowl, have agreed to a two-game deal to play in 2024 and 2027. The schools announced the home-and-home series on Wednesday. The first game would be in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The series matches two of the winningest program in NCAA history. Michigan ranks first with 912 victories, while Texas is third with 876. Texas won the 2005 Rose Bowl 38-37 on a field goal on the final play of the Longhorns first appearance in a Bowl Championship Series game. Quarterback Vince Young, who accounted for 372 total yards and five touchdowns against the Wolverines, led Texas to the national championship the next season.

Tyrone Swoopes may be the brand new guy in Austin.

Several media outlets are already calling the sophomore the Texas Longhorns' new long-term solution at quarterback after a positive performance against UCLA Saturday.

Swoopes threw for 196 yards against the Bruins, tossing two touchdowns in the effort. He connected with senior receiver John Harris on several impressive throws, one of which went for a nine-yard score late in the game to put the Longhorns up.

UCLA would ultimately take the game after backup quarterback Jerry Neuheisel relieved an injured Brett Hundley. He threw a 33-yard touchdown with just three minutes left in the game to seal it for UCLA.

Nevertheless, pundits are already predicting great things from Swoopes. Big-12 announcer Gus Johnson even called him "Vince Young 2.0," which didn't go over too well with some Longhorns fans and critics alike.

DallasNews proclaimed that "Texas has finally found its quarterback" and that "this is his team now."

The news outlet held back from giving Swoopes too much praise, particularly after he failed to engineer a game-winning drive in the final minutes of Saturday's game. But it did say that he's making progress, and "it's a start."

Bleacher Report called Swoopes the Longhorns' "silver lining" in its loss to UCLA, saying that he "managed the game plan in superb fashion, and he did not give up any turnovers to the Bruins."

Offensive coordinator Shawn Watson said after the game that Swoopes is moving a lot faster than the coach envisioned, and that he's "a really exceptional player."

Most agree, though, that it'll be a long road before the quarterback ever lives up to Vince Young-status, or even becomes a legitimate star on the team. Through two games he's put up rather pedestrian numbers with 372 yards, three TDs and one interception.

Texas's next three matches will be enough for the world to see if Swoopes is for real. The Longhorns take on Kansas in two weeks, followed by home games against No. 7 Baylor and No. 4 Oklahoma

Former NFL quarterback Vince Young files for bankruptcy just seven years after signing $25million contract  Police–citizen encounters
In the United States, interactions between police and citizens fall into three general categories: consensual ("contact" or "conversation"), detention (often called a Terry stop, after Terry v. Ohio, 392 U.S. 1 (1968)), or arrest. "Stop and identify" laws pertain to detentions.
Different obligations apply to drivers of motor vehicles, who generally are required by state vehicle codes to present a driver’s license to police upon request.
Consensual
At any time, police may approach a person and ask questions. The objective may simply be a friendly conversation; however, the police also may suspect involvement in a crime, but lack "specific and articulable facts"[4] that would justify a detention or arrest, and hope to obtain these facts from the questioning. The person approached is not required to identify himself or answer any other questions, and may leave at any time.[5] Police are not usually required to tell a person that he is free to decline to answer questions and go about his business;[6] however, a person can usually determine whether the interaction is consensual by asking, "Am I free to go?"[7][8]
Detention
A person is detained when circumstances are such that a reasonable person would believe he is not free to leave.[9]
Police may briefly detain a person if they have reasonable suspicion that the person has committed, is committing, or is about to commit a crime. Many state laws explicitly grant this authority. In Terry v. Ohio, the U.S. Supreme Court established that police may conduct a limited search for weapons (known as a "frisk") if they reasonably suspect that the person to be detained may be armed and dangerous.
Police may question a person detained in a Terry stop, but in general, the detainee is not required to answer.[10] However, many states have "stop and identify" laws that explicitly require a person detained under the conditions of Terry to identify himself to police, and in some cases, provide additional information.
Before Hiibel, it was unresolved whether a detainee could be arrested and prosecuted for refusing to disclose his name. Authority on this issue was split among the federal circuit courts of appeal,[11] and the U.S. Supreme Court twice expressly refused to address the question.[12] In Hiibel, the Court held, in a 5–4 decision, that a Nevada "stop and identify" law did not violate the United States Constitution. The Court’s opinion implied that a detainee was not required to produce written identification, but could satisfy the requirement merely by stating his name. Some "stop and identify" laws do not require that a detainee identify himself, but allow refusal to do so to be considered along with other factors in determining whether there is probable cause to arrest. In some states, providing a false name is an offense.[13]
As of February 2011, the Supreme Court has not addressed the validity of requirements that a detainee provide information other than his name, however some states such as Arizona have specifically codified that a detained person is not required to provide any information aside from their full name.
