The other night at work, I was talking to a couple who are frequent customers, whom I've spoken with many times, and always considered to be nice to talk with.  I told them about one of my sons having fractured his pelvis 2 weeks ago. The woman asked me my son's name, and I told her. She immediately broke out into loud prayer for the boy, and went on for several minutes. I didn't want to be rude, but I was openly and obviously embarrassed. At one point, I interjected that he'll be fine, but she just went on and on. Personally, I find this very embarrassing. This is not the first time it's happened to me either. For me, spirituality is a private thing. I can talk about my religion all you want, but I would no sooner engage in any type of ceremony or "prayer" in public, than I would drop my pants and take a dump on the floor in front of people. I would much more prefer a "I'll pray for him at church" or something like that. IOW, keep your prayers personal. Please do not subject me to it. Now I have not had an occasion to tell them that I am not a christian, but still, why would anyone assume that even a christian would want someone to break out into prayer for them in the middle of a WalMart, especially when that person was trying to do their job??? My question is, have things like this happened to you, and how did you feel about it? Or how do you think you'd feel if it has not happened? What I can tell you is that I will not be airing my troubles to them again. And I will probably deliberately work into the next encounter the fact that I am not a christian. I suspect that reception won't be good, but that's fine. I have no use for closed minded people. Do you think I should tell them how embarrassing it was? I don't want a fight or to have to defend my response, especially since I only see them while I am working, and I don't really have time for a protracted discussion. But maybe I am just talking from the perspective of a person who has no use for this device as I normally use my Roku device which this remote would be of no use. But Hey! Maybe I can just use that bottle opener that they decided to throw onto it, which browsing Kickstarter seemed to be a trend. "Hey! Lets throw a bottle opener on an product and pitch it on Kickstarter." The bottle opener seems too gimmicky.  This device could be a much simpler design, but they chose to go with some futuristic design that looks as if it came out of a SciFi movie that might involved some whips and chains that are unsuitable for younger audiences.
