NMA Driving News Story of the Day for January 16, 2017

NYC’s Vision Zero Program is not working. 11 Pedestrians have already been killed in 2017 and Mayor de Blasio is under attack by critics. Vision Zero is indeed a lofty goal and anytime anyone is killed in a traffic accident, it is a personal tragedy. Vision Zero though is an unsustainable program in both rhetoric and financials. There are much better and cheaper ways to allow everyone who uses the road to be safer--it takes every road users doing their part!

NMA Driving News Story of the Day for January 15, 2017
Congressmen are now weighing on what should be a local issue--school bus seatbelts.

For example, Aspen, CO officials decided this week to take seat belts out of their larger school buses because they found that in the day-to-day school bus seatbelts make children less safe overall.
Of course, we want our children to be safe on the school bus and generally they really are!
