The IRS was harassing the presidents opponents (disproportionately), but the President learned about it when we did. The DEA was losing guns in bungled sting operations, but that happened without the Presidents knowledge or consent. OK... Y'know what, I'll buy all that.  But if this is the most transparent administration in history, why is it that even the executive in charge of it doesn't know what the hell's going on? The Embassy Suites Chicago Downtown Lakefront Screws Us Today was a great day of filming at the National Restaurant Association show followed by a great meetup at Lucky Strike for bowling and fun, and everything was going great... until +Hilton Worldwide's +Embassy Suites Hotels Chicago Downtown Lakefront location decided to absolutely ruin things for us by interrupting a short interview +Cali Lewis and I were going to do in the lobby with +Rusty Greer.  Rusty traveled all the way from Nashville to spend the evening with us at our meetup.  And we told him we'd be happy to do an interview with him!  It was so noisy at the Lucky Strike lanes we suggested going next door to our hotel lobby - something we've done in hotels all over the US, with the likes of +ABC News, +CNN International and independent bloggers and fans. We pulled three chairs together in front of a little water fountain and Rusty pulled out a couple of lights.  It was about this time that a security guard with a very unpleasant attitude came over to tell us that without permission we could not do our quick interview.  He further explained that since it was 10pm, there was no manager on duty to appeal to and that, "I run the hotel now".  Yes, that is a direct quote. I went to the clerk at the front desk and asked for a manager, and a woman was brought around to address the issue with me.  I told her we were just trying to shoot a 5 minute interview, and pointed out that there were no identifying corporate marks in the video.  Just three chairs, with us, 5 minutes.   To cut to the chase, she shot us down.  She exhibited no empathy whatsoever, and as I grew increasingly frustrated she informed me that, "there are plenty of places in this city you could have shot that interview". You want to know what makes the whole thing completely absurd?  This hotel has a huge open area inside, and today I saw at least 10 people standing around taking photos of everything completely unabated.  _The hotel allows you to take all the photos of everything you want_, but the staff got belligerent and refused to allow a video interview. Why in God's name would anyone do that???  Its just an exceptionally stupid policy in a world dominated by social media. You know, I might have gotten over the fact that the staff ruined our evenings, and sent Rusty home hundreds of miles away without the simple thing he wanted if they had tried to even remotely be courteous about it.  But the security officer was belligerent from the second he approached us, and at one point even made a point of telling me that the Chicago Police Department was in charge tonight!  I mean the guy wearing the security uniform was even claiming to be a police officer! Add to the fact that the room I was put in had no towels (literally not a one), the electrical outlet at the desk people are supposed to work at was non-functional, and that even on the 8th floor the massive open area outside acts as a huge echo chamber filling the room with all the laughing and yelling at the bar below plus loud dings from the elevators - and you've got one absolutely miserable hotel experience.
