In one pair of eyes and through a cranial process, and out comes a completely different story. “Because news doesn’t just happen, it’s selected, framed, and reported by dozens of editors and reporters.” (Gourley)This rejection of facts, doubled with the thick bias of either liberal or conservative origin, leads me to concur that journalists should keep their feelings out their writing and stick to the logic. Let’s begin with Herman Cain, a black republican who had sexual harassment charges filed against him. Many Democrats in modern times have been caught in this regime. JFK or even John Edwards, some paid a political price but most didn’t because their policies were favored by the liberal media, which gave them cover. Now it is Herman Cain's turn, things have suddenly changed, standing accused of sexually harassing two women more than a decade ago when he headed the National Restaurant Association, the media took this as a time to pounce. (Cal Thomas Baltimore sun) They twisted and plotted the story until left squealed with delight. Oftentimes they falsely accuse and politically maim the initial victim of the opposite party. “The mainstream media has a history of such, downplaying and ignoring stories by using their “Journalistic Judgment” by simply not reporting on the issue.” (Gishmah Mediabias.com) This is what they’ve done for the Democratic Party, assisting their candidates an assured get-out-of-jail- free card. This applies to the presidential election of 2012, I turned on CNN to find the station reporting a far different version of the same debate that I had been watching Fox News. These two news stations are perfect examples of media bias, each strongly leaning toward s the opposite end of the political spectrum. Both trying to get their select candidate to look a little better, “journalists are, after all not like scientists observing the behavior of fruit flies, but not influencing what the fruit flies might do, they inescapably change the reality of whatever they are observing by whether and how they choose to write about it.” (gourley) These stations have assisted in changing opinion of the masses, to believe its popular opinion or even, widely accepted as fact. So the liberals had their way with the media and now Barack Obama is president, next comes perhaps one of the largest outrages to the Journalism Industry, the 2012 Benghazi attack. These things have led me to the conclusion that, we will never be able to fully rid of media bias, we will never be able to get journalists to report with pure fact, without a twist of opinion dashed somewhere in the mix.
