Medellín, Colombia 2010. El este ejercicio se mejoró la fotografía original por capas, primero se mejoró la luz (exposición) y el color (balance de blancos). Luego en otra capa se corrigieron los defectos en la fotografía, como los mugres en el sensor de la cámara, también los lunares, estrías, cicatrices, pliegues pronunciados y parte la arena pegada en las piernas. Posteriormente se hizo un leve licuado en el abdomen para acentuar la forma de la cintura y se redondearon un poco los glúteos mejorando la pase o postura de la modelo. Por último se retocó la piel para resaltar los poros y mejorar el bronceado. Para hacer un poco más natural la luz Global de la Fotografía agregué un de Sol de 6500° K. 3.100 Visitas hasta ahora!! Until my last two uploads it's been nearly a year (4th Nov 2011) since I uploaded a shot with a daytime sky in it. Only 2 of the 28 shots I posted in that time were even taken in the daytime. Even then, you have to go back to August 2011 to find any real number of daytime shots. So I'm trying, briefly, to redress the balance. This is my first attempt at a panorama shot. It's composed of seven handheld exposures; shot portrait on manual. The output was 600Mb! You won't need too keen an eye to spot the beginners mistakes; like the artifacts from the attempts to process out the vignetting. Anyway, I'd shot the images to make a panorama, and felt it wouldn't count as following through if I didn't post them. Criticism would be, as ever, hugely appreciated. I used content aware fill on CS5 to fill corners. When it built the other half of the far left tree, I was pretty stunned. It's more magic than technology. This is a shot from Zumwalt Meadow; a spot at the end of California's Kings Canyon National Park which offers a little circular walk beneath these giant crags. I'd recommend it hugely. I was very impressed with the display, but I needed to see how it would look when using my usual applications. They didn't have Lightroom installed, so I experimented with Photoshop CS5 instead. I opened a full-resolution JPG in Preview and then opened the same photo in CS5. I compared how the CS5 (non-Retina) looked to the Preview (Retina) version in the background. The Preview version was a 100% crop and the CS5 version was viewed at 50% to match scale. The difference in fine detail is very noticeable. Have a look for yourself at the full resolution version of this upload. In my opinion, it will not be possible to do detailed photo editing such as sharpening on a Retina display until Adobe updates its products for Retina graphics. Photoshop and other non-Retina-capable applications think they're working with a 1440x900 display, so that is the graphic the program is generating. Meanwhile, the Mac knows it needs to scale all that up to 2880x1800. This is done by taking each pixel and expanding it to a four pixel area on screen (called pixel-doubling, since each linear dimension is doubled). That's why it looks pixelated. Adobe is working to update this for CS6, but no word on when. I hope Lightroom isn't far behind. In addition to the Adobe test, I also tried setting the display to different scaled resolutions and I was blown away at how good everything still looks (for applications that have Retina support, of course). The scaled 1920x1200 option appears just as sharp as the native 1920x1200 resolution on my current 17" MacBook Pro. Way to go, Apple! Unfortunately, non-Retina applications still look bad at the alternative resolutions. Once the 3rd-party software catches up, this will be an amazing piece of hardware. I read that Adobe CS5 would work with the D7000's raw data, but only after it was updated so I went ahead and bought CS5 (€700) to see if it was true. It worked a charm and the updates only took about 20 minutes. It's a shame higher end cameras are increasingly demanding of much faster software but in the long run its already saved me a lot of time and work. The file converter that Adobe offer is quite good but I can't help but wonder if there is a loss of data. I tested all of CS5's usual features and raw processing abilities, so far there have been no problems. Taken with Canon 5D. Vuurtoren van Marken, ook bekend als het Paard van Marken. Het Paard van Marken is een vuurtoren van Marken. De vuurtoren is ontworpen door J. Valk en gebouwd in 1839 en staat op de oostelijke punt van het eiland. De toren heeft een hoogte van 16 meter en een lichtbereik van 16,7 km. De toren is begonnen als een vierkante vuurbaak in 1700. Later werden er gebouwen aan de vuurtoren gebouwd, die de toren de karakteristieke vorm gaf. In 1814 kreeg de toren een mistbel. In 1839 is de ronde toren gebouwd op het fundament van de vuurbaak. In 1919 is de mistbel vervangen door een misthoorn. Regelmatig heeft de vuurtoren last van kruiend ijs. In 1971 was dit zo erg dat de toren enkele centimeters van zijn plaats werd geduwd. Momenteel wordt de vuurtoren bewoond. Sinds 1970 bezit de toren de status rijksmonument. Marken (plaatselijk: Mereke) is een voormalig eiland in de Zuiderzee, tegenwoordig Markermeer dat sinds 1957 via een dijk met het vasteland verbonden is. Het behoort tot de gemeente Waterland in de provincie Noord-Holland. Geschiedenis In de dertiende eeuw vestigden zich monniken van het klooster Mariëngaarde uit Friesland op het eiland. Hun voornaamste middelen van bestaan waren landbouw en veeteelt. Om zich te beschermen tegen het water werden er dijken rond het eiland aangelegd en werden de woningen op verhogingen gebouwd. In de 14e eeuw waren er regelmatig dijkdoorbraken, waardoor het zoute water weer vrij spel kreeg. De inwoners van Marken gingen zich toeleggen op visserij. De aanleg van de Afsluitdijk in 1932 betekende een eind aan deze bron van inkomsten. Bij een watersnoodramp in 1916 kwamen 16 mensen op het eiland om het leven en werden tal van mensen dakloos. Op 17 oktober 1957 werd om 13.11 uur de dijk tussen het vasteland en Marken gesloten. Eilandbeeld Al meer dan een eeuw is het voormalige vissersdorp een belangrijke toeristische trekpleister. De opvallende klederdracht heeft daaraan bijgedragen. Karakteristiek zijn de houten huizen op palen. Nog ouder zijn de zogenaamde werven, kunstmatige verhogingen waarop werd gewoond. De hoofdstraat van Marken heet Kerkbuurt. Een opmerkelijk landschapsbeeld wordt gevormd door de restanten van het Goudriaankanaal, dat tussen 1826 en 1828 werd aangelegd maar nooit in gebruik werd genomen. Het kanaal, dat een strategische verbinding had moeten vormen tussen Amsterdam en de Zuiderzee, doorsneed Marken van het zuidwesten naar het noordoosten en was in 1828 al bevaarbaar. Na 1828 groeide het dicht en werd het gedempt; vandaag resteren voornamelijk nog enkele zijsloten. De grote parkeerplaats en de voormalige vuilstort liggen op het tracé van het kanaal. Marken kan ook per boot vanaf Volendam worden bereikt. Het water tussen Marken en het vasteland heet de Gouwzee. Indeling Marken Marken vormt in wezen één leef- en woonplaats, maar is opgedeeld in diverse buurtschappen. Oorspronkelijk lagen die ook echt los van elkaar. Tegenwoordig liggen sommige buurten aan elkaar, zoals Havenbuurt, Kerkbuurt en Kets. Aparte buurtschappen op het eiland zijn: Grotewerf Moeniswerf Rozewerf Wittewerf Bevolking De Markers op leeftijd spreken onderling over het algemeen nog hun eigen dialect, het Markens. Onder de leeftijd van 60 jaar komt dit nog bij een enkel gezin voor, en de jeugd gebruikt misschien nog enkele Marker woorden. In godsdienstig opzicht is de bevolking van Marken protestants. Er zijn twee kerken op het eiland: van de gelovigen is ongeveer twee derde van de bevolking lid van de Nederlandse Hervormde Kerk en een derde van de Gereformeerde Kerk. Beide kerken behoren tot de Protestantse Kerk in Nederland. De godsdienstige achtergrond blijkt ook uit de verkiezingsuitslagen. Het eiland was vroeger een CHU-bolwerk en tegenwoordig een CDA-bolwerk. Bij de laatste gemeenteraadsverkiezingen in 2006 stemde 70,3% van de Markers op het CDA, een van de hoogste percentages in Nederland. Bij de Europese verkiezingen van 2009 was dit echter nog maar 38,2%, maar vormde samen met de PVV (20,6%) en VVD (9,01%) nog wel de top 3. Verkeer en vervoer Van de betreding van Marken lopen er asfaltwegen naar de Minneweg, in het Noord-oosten, en naar de vuurtoren, in het oosten van Marken. Echter, zonder vergunning is Marken met de auto enkel tot het parkeerterrein te berijden. You see, my husband and I go way back in the photography world...starting out way back in high school...in fact the first time I laid eyes on him he had a camera in his hands.... A passion we shared, both photographers for our high school yearbook and photography class. We would spend weekends going out to remote locations on photo shoots(our idea of a perfect date)... later after we were married we would take the kids on photo shoots. He built our first dark room in a large closet in our first house.....(back when dark rooms & film where the in thing) and I LOVED watching the images come to life in the solution!! I miss those days...I might have him build me another one just for fun!! He is an amazing man...... He actually went to the wedding I shot a few weekends ago as my assistant and was a huge help! He has shot many weddings in his past and knows his stuff. He was also the one who is responsible for me finding flickr! He had a few friends who used it and he thought it would be the perfect outlet for me to showcase my work and meet other photographers. So thanks babe for all that you are and all that you do!! It was a windy day--as always these days it seems we have windy days--so not only did I have to watch out for shakes in the camera but also the flower itself. I used standard 100mm f/2.8 macro lens but the light wasn't right. I decided to test CS5's new paint blending brush. I find it awesome!! You have to watch which direction you brush--it picks up colors from where it starts. It creates various textures based on the many brushes the palette offers. If you have Wacom, like I do, or something similar, it is sensitive to the pressure and tilt of the pen. WARNING; I'm a Photoshop CS3 user and took it for granted that there would be no difficulty processing my Nikon D300s NEF RAW files (having a D300 already) ... big mistake! To cut a long story short, PS3 will not recognise D300s RAW files. And this is the hard part!! .. the plug-in for the D300s provided by Adobe is only available for CS4! Also, Adobe DNG Converter will not convert the D300s NEF files, this is very disappointing. As a short-term fix, I've downloaded a trial version of CS5, which works just fine, no plug-in required. In fact, I'll probably buy the license ... I just hate being bullied into this position by Adobe and Nikon!! Im aware that there are half a dozen ways around this, using GIMP and similar applications, but I have established a fairly consistent workflow pattern that I am loath to change. If you are in the market to invest in the D300s, you would be advised to consider image processing options in advance. PS; If you are a Black and White Photography fan and use a Nik Software plug-in bundle, eg - Sliver Efex Pro, then you will also be upset to learn that the Sliver Efex plug-in will NOT run on CS5! After seeing a video on YouTube, I posted unfavorably against it, but I spoke to soon. Now that I’ve taken it for a test drive, I am very impressed! As you all know I’m a big HDR buff, and when it comes to HDR software, I’m very critical to the results and how it applies to my workflow. For the past couple of years I’ve been a loyal user of Photomatix. Basically because there wasn’t any other HDR program that even compared to the tone mapping features that Photomatix had to offer, not even from Adobe. In the previous versions of Photoshop, creating an HDR photo with the merge to HDR tool wasn’t even worth using, because there was nothing to use. Those who have used the previous version of Photoshop for createing HDR photos would agree, results from Photoshop weren’t comparable to Photomatix or even Picturenaut, a free HDR program. First it is not a huge upgrade, really.... The new stuff like content aware, new brushes, mini-bridge, etc are not that great ... they are nice, but... anyway.. my two cents... here i have played with one of my best sports photo. The idea was to use the (better?) perspective correction tool in Photoshop CS5. This was shot with a 300mm and a 1.4 extender.. so the perspective was good. But i fake a wide angle shot with the perspective correction tool... Now Nadal is in our face ;-) Some minor color/contrast changes a bit also... first it is just looking like a close up, but the fake wide angle look better..i think tennis season is right around the corner.. more cool stuff ;-) the actual untouch photo is under so you can compare witch one you prefer... Blue Morpho butterfly Many Morpho butterflies are colored in metallic, shimmering shades of blue and green. These colors are not a result of pigmentation but are an example of iridescence: the microscopic scales covering the Morpho's wings reflect incident light repeatedly at successive layers, leading to interference effects that depend on both wavelength and angle of incidence/observance[2]. Thus the colors produced vary with viewing angle, however they are actually surprisingly uniform, perhaps due to the tetrahedral (diamond-like) structural arrangement of the scales or diffraction from overlying cell layers. This structure may be likened to a photonic crystal. The lamellate structure of their wing scales has been studied as a model in the development of fabrics, dye-free paints, and anti-counterfeit technology used in currency. The iridescent lamellae are only present on the dorsal side of their wings, leaving the ventral side brown. The ventral side is decorated with ocelli or eyespots. In some species, such as M. godarti, the dorsal lamellae are so thin as to allow the ventral ocelli to peek through. While not all Morphos have iridescent coloration, they all have ocelli. In most species only the males are colorful, supporting the theory that the coloration is used for intrasexual communication between males. The lamellae reflect up to 70% of light falling on them, including any ultraviolet (UV). The eyes of Morpho butterflies are thought to be highly sensitive to UV light and therefore the males are able to see each other from great distances. Some South American species are reportedly visible by the human eye up to one kilometre away. There also exist a number of white Morpho species, principal among these being M. catenarius and M. laertes. An unusual species that is fundamentally white in coloration, but which exhibits a stunning purple iridescence when viewed at certain angles is the rare M. sulkowskyi, while among the metallic blue Morpho species, M. rhetenor stands out as the most iridescence of all, with M. cypris a close second. Indeed, M. cypris is notable in that specimens that are mounted in entomological collections will exhibit color differences across the wings if they are not 'set' perfectly flat. All I did was some curves to bring out the darks and lights a little better. The editor seems pretty much the same for what I do (curves, exposure adjustments, signature, borders) and nothing that jumps out at my yet as far as photo editing. It did seem to run quicker than CS4 on my Dual Quadcore Mac with 6GB RAM. One thing that sucks though, is Lightroom Beta 3 ceased working when CS5 was installed. This is the same set up as the last shot of Tulips I posted, but this was shot when the sun went behind a cloud - so much less blown out color. It's dubbed 'HDR Pro' (??) and the interface is totally new -- as are the sliders! (Watch the Adobe video if you want to see it in action.) I'm not a huge fan of HDR, truth be told, but if it's done tactfully it can be OK! The new interface definitely gives you finer, gentler control... but I'm sure it won't stop people from malevolently abusing the photographic medium... Anyway, take a look at this one large, on black -- admittedly performance over CS4 is purely subjective... but.. well... what can you do? Westminster Cathedral is the mother church of the Roman Catholic faithful of the Archdiocese of Westminster and the metropolitan church of the Westminster Province, located at 42 Francis Street SW1 in the City of Westminster in London. It is the largest Roman Catholic church in England and Wales. Not to be confused with Westminster Abbey of the Church of England, Westminster Cathedral is the seat of the Archbishop of Westminster Cormac Cardinal Murphy-O'Connor, shepherd of the Archdiocese of Westminster. As a matter of custom each newly appointed Archbishop of Westminster has been created a cardinal in consistory. History In the late 19th century, the Catholic Church hierarchy had only recently been restored in the United Kingdom, and it was in memory of Cardinal Wiseman (who died in 1865, and was the first Archbishop of Westminster from 1850) that the first substantial sum of money was raised for the new cathedral. The land was acquired in 1884 by Wiseman's successor, Cardinal Manning. After two false starts in 1867 (under architect Henry Clutton) and 1892 (architect Baron von Herstel), construction started in 1895 under Manning's successor, the third archbishop Cardinal Vaughan with Bentley as architect. The cathedral opened in 1903, a little after Bentley's death. For reasons of economy the decoration of the interior had hardly been started and still much remained to be completed. Under the laws of the Church no place of worship could be consecrated unless free from debt and having its fabric completed, so the consecration ceremony did not take place until June 28, 1910. On May 28, 1982, the first day of his six-day visit to the United Kingdom, Pope John Paul II celebrated Mass in the cathedral. In 1995, at the invitation of Cardinal Basil Hume, the cathedral was visited by the Queen, the first visit of a reigning monarch of the United Kingdom to a Catholic liturgy for several hundred years. Architecture and Mosaics The Byzantine church architecture by John Francis Bentley makes Westminster Cathedral a highly distinctive building. The dominating external features are the great campanile, St. Edward's Tower, 273ft high (top of cross, 284ft), and the West Front with its finely balanced pillars and arches. The nave is the widest of any church in England and, because the Sanctuary is 4.5ft above the level of the nave, every part commands an uninterrupted view of the High Altar, with its imposing marble and mosaic baldacchino, on which light is cleverly concentrated. The richly gilt Crucifix hanging from the chancel arch is 30ft in length. On one side is the figure of Christ; on the reverse, towards the altar, the figure of the Sorrowful Mother. The Archiepiscopal Throne or cathedra, of marble and mosaic, is modelled on the Papal Throne at the Basilica of St. John Lateran in Rome. The beautiful marble pillars are elaborately carved, with caps of white Carrara marble, no two alike. There are in all eleven side-chapels. Adjoining the Chapel of the Blessed Sacrament is a white marble monument of Cardinal Vaughan (d. 1903). The screen and gates in this chapel, surmounted by a gold pelican, are very beautiful. In a corresponding position on the other side of the Sanctuary is the Lady Chapel. The Chapel of St. Gregory and Augustine (the first on the right as one enters the nave) and the Chapel of the Holy Souls (the first on the left as one enters) are also complete; the former was the gift of Lord and Lady Brampton. The cathedral continues to receive donations for the completion of the elaborate mosaics within. As of 2006, work is being undertaken to decorate the Chapel of St. Joseph. Below the Choir is the Crypt, or St. Peter's Chapel, also with fine columns. Here are monuments covering the remains of Cardinals Wiseman and Manning, transferred from their original place of interment and Kensal Green. The view from the Tower is much obstructed by nearby buildings and scenery. The tower is about 60ft higher than the western towers of Westminster Abbey, but is 30ft lower than the Clock Tower of the Houses of Parliament.
