"Fresh From the Baja," will feature Chef Deb Schneider, dubbed by Bon Appetit Magazine as "the reigning queen of San Diego chefs," the author of five cookbooks, and Executive Chef/Partner in SOL Cocina in Newport Beach and Scottsdale, and Solita in Huntington Beach. Her second book, "Cooking with the Seasons at Rancho La Puerta," was nominated for a James Beard Foundation Award.

Schneider's passion for Baja was stoked by countless surf trips down the Peninsula, she says. She took the inspiration for her restaurants' menus from the healthy, flavorful food she found at small street and beach stands during these trips, and developed a cuisine rich with fresh seafood and inventive preparations. She was an early advocate of the local farm to table movement and support of sustainable fisheries in California and Baja.

The event is free and open to the public.

Thank you to the nominees, thank you to the winners, thank you to the audience and a thank you to James, Adam Barker and Lewis Llewellyn who all did their part on the night and in the lead up beautifully.
An especial thank you to Christian Kay for being an amazing co-organiser and an extraordinary talent when it comes to putting together all the video work for the show.

Most of all though, when coming up with the show and starting it with Luminous Beard, the idea was to give something back to the community that could grow and develop and benefit the whole of chelmsford and I think that is starting to be the case. I looked out at the audience last night and knew that not one of those people would leave the room without feeling positive about the local culture we have and how important it is to our society.

Well done to everyone who bothers to make the place in which they live that little bit better.

I know I bang on about it all and can be an annoying bugger but thanks for being there and showing what talents there are around us?

PANIC Awards 2015 anyone? We've got to make it to ten years at least and that would be 2017... ;-)
