The Fashion Group International Greater Washington, DC Region will host its inaugural Rising Stars event honoring the most promising emerging talent in their industries at James Beard Award Winning Chef Fabio Trabacchi's Casa Luca.
For thirty years, The Fashion Group International has celebrated the extraordinary accomplishments of the fashion industry’s top talent by honoring them at the Night of Stars in New York. Marc Jacobs, Tom Ford , Oscar de la Renta, Valentino and Dianne Von Furstenberg are just a few of the luminaries that received a Night of Stars Award. Seventeen years ago, The Fashion Group International created Rising Stars to identify the emerging talents whose creativity and vision are recognized. Pete Hisey : Charles Koch Wins James Beard Award as Chef of the Year. Although he was never nominated and not invited, The James Beard Foundation named Charles Koch the winner of the Chef of the Year prize. The Foundation denied that the $116 million donation to the foundation influenced the results. "Once we saw his brilliant and nuanced menu, served to some of the most famous and respected food critics in the world, we were convinced," a spokesperson said. "See this menu and you will understand why we recognized this brilliant and innovative chef."

Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum : Timeline Photos It is with a heavy heart that we announce a Fundraiser this Monday, March 10, for one of our Nick's Italian Cafe family member's, Eduardo Mailman and his daughter Jayden. On February 11, Edie's fiance Kelly and their twin daughter's were involved in a tragic car accident that took her life and the life of their daughter Jasmine. Their other twin daughter, Jayden survived the accident and we are happy to announce, has officially come off of life support. We hope you will join us this Monday in helping Edie and Jayden in the little ways we can, to begin their road to recovery.
The Back Room- silent auction and live music beginning at 5:15pm. Silent auction closes at 6 pm. *all monies raised by the band will be donated to Edie and Jayden.
The Front Room- 5-course dinner, incl. wine, begins at 6 pm ($75/pp, $50 of which is donated to Edie and Jayden)
