John Harris John Harris : We were at the Hatfield and McCoy show today. I was enjoying it until they started telling dirty jokes and the women were dressed in skimpy clothes. When that happened I told my family to get up and we are leaving. It made me sick and I did not want to stay there! So we left in the middle of the show.

Jess Horsley Jess Horsley : Ed Buckner is up in a puff because he found a Gideon Bible in his state park cabin while on holiday with his family. As an atheist, he was "concerned," saying Thursday, "I think government entanglement with religion is a very dangerous thing. When you go into a state park cabin and the only piece of religious literature there is a Protestant Bible, that suggests the government's endorsed that particular perspective."

I think that comments shows that this citizen assumes too much. I would interject there being a Gideon Bible there suggests the only religious people who have actively tried to share their faith through placing donated religious literature are the Gideons...who just so happen to be Christians.

I personally have absolutely NOTHING against there being a Quran, Torah, Bhagavad Gita or even the Satanic Bible in my state park cabin...as long as none of them were paid for by tax dollars.

If any group wants to share their faith and beliefs through literature placed in a state cabin or any public place, where's the harm? It's when the government starts to turn them away OR - worse yet - ban only certain religious texts that this becomes an issue.

Open hearts, open minds and open doors.

It's not that hard to be inclusive when you recognize EVERYONE is a child of God and every voice has value, even if you don't agree with what they're saying.

John Howard Hatfield John Howard Hatfield : Feud Tourism in the Land of Hatfields and McCoys     Very interesting article. Patsy Scott Hatfield and I, plus our daughter, Stephanie Hatfield Winters took a road trip up there in the late 90s and found all this stuff. I had done some research beforehand, but we were mostly blind going into the search.

We came upon the McCoy Cemetery from the back side and eventually found the Hatfield Cemetery with the help of a distant relative.

What a time we had.

I found the arrangement of the burial sites in the Hatfield Cemetery to be a bit unusual, but not for the time I suppose. The men were all buried in a row along the front of the main path and the women all buried in a row directly behind the men.

Joyce Ann Hogue Joyce Ann Hogue : Did you know that microbes are extremely adaptable ?? Are you aware that in our efforts to try to * eradicate* them----- we have pushed them to evolve?? Ahhhhhh....yessssssssssssm....... long before chemists created antibiotics, yeast, fungi, and rival bacteria were producing antibiotics toward each other off and establish neighborhoods. They became adept at evading each other's strategies and adapting for survival. Because people have used antibiotics indiscriminately in humans and animals, bacteria have had a chance to learn from it ..........undergoing rapid mutations!!!!! Just sayin.
