We have called the kids to become modern day abolitionist and stand for the over 27 million people (the majority being women and children) world wide who are currently slaves. As there parents you have an opportunity to see what this has all been about and go watch this film. We have tickets at the church that we bought ahead of time, so The Cobb would bring the movie to Tuscaloosa for this week. There are $8 each and the times are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday at 7:20 p.m.
It is about a little girl who is like 7 years old and her father is so desperate he felt his only option was to sell her-she is bought and becomes a slave. Something that happens everyday and most of us don't even realize it. Please don't be indifferent and if you are-go watch the film, it just might awaken something in you that you didn't realize was sleeping. We have way more tickets left then we thought we would, so this is a call to everyone. A call to desire to be informed and to not turn and cover your eyes, so you won't know what is happening. We are taking our 7 and 9 year old, so your kids can go and they would love to tell you more about modern day slavery.
