Debra Alloway-Whitten : Rai Whitten woke up with a sore throat today, but carried on like a trooper for our tourist sightseeing. Onto The Tower of London. Didn't realise how big it was, spent 3 hours there. Caught a ferry to the London Eye had a ride. Was sunny & overcast as we went round, great views though. Walked to Trafalgar Square and came across the Queens Horse Guard parade. Then checked out the St Martins in the Field church. Decided to walk back to Bloomsbury, past through some lovely areas. So many eating places here, it's a wonder they survive! Back home for a rest & get laundry done before we pack for the start of the Europe tour. Tomorrow night we are in Amsterdam, Rais country of birth and first time back!

State House Kenya : President Kenyatta travels to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
Nairobi May 23, 2013 PPS

President Uhuru Kenyatta has this afternoon travelled to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia for a five day official visit.

The plane carrying the President and his entourage departed Jomo Kenyatta International Airport shortly after 1.00 PM.

While in Ethiopia, the President will attend the 21st Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the African Union (AU) Heads of State and Government.

On his way to Addis Ababa, the Head of State will make a brief stop-over in Juba for a meeting with his Southern Sudan counterpart President Salva Kiir Mayardit.

The President is accompanied by the First Lady Mrs. Margaret Kenyatta, the Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Amb. Amina Mohamed and other senior government officials.

The President was seen off at the airport by Deputy President William Ruto, Chief of Defence Forces General Julius Karangi and Inspector General of Police David Kimaiyo among other senior Government officials.
