Tiffany Robertson Dula Tiffany Robertson Dula : Well this morning when we went to Dr he had strep, sinus infection and swelling in his lungs. We can now add ear infection behind the ear drum to that list. Poor kid- he's got one day to start feeling better or he's going to miss his last field day. 󾌮

Matthew Davidson Matthew Davidson : Second day in Nashville went by pretty well, praise the Lord. Spent time with my brother Timothy Killingsworth and his family, and extended family playing fun games, eating good southern food and even getting a little quality couch sleep for the road, lol. All of the faith Of Christ please pray for my bro and his family, they have trials, as we all do, and need our love and the grace of Jesus. Spent some time with me old runnin bud Eddie Lorenz and had fun and now, it's off to snoozeville, until 7:30 AM when I catch a bus and maybe do some shootin with Tim and possibly Todd A Boswell

Rusty Kenny Rusty Kenny : What a good day! Was a volunteer chaperone for Erin AlFord's second grade class. I have gone on three field trips and this was the fourth one this year. Today they went to another elementary school to meet their penpals. What a great experience to share with Erin and her students. The other teacher was so nice and her students were also nice. Walking around the class room and watching the children interact with their penpals was so interesting (really want to use more effusisve comments, but they would probably sound insincere). I hope I will be able to continue volunteering at Erin's, Jennifer's & Christopher's schools this coming school year. Erin's second graders have been so well behaved on these field trips, they are much better behaved than a lot of adjuts. Thank you, Erin, for allowing me to share these experiences with you and your students. Love and hugs to you and your students. Mom/Nana

Leatha Gyamfi Leatha Gyamfi : Following is an "edited" version of today's events, which I posted in a more "fitting" forum, here on Facebook. I present this cleaned-up installment, as I do not wish to offend anyone's sensibilities with some of my "stronger" language used herein.

Racism is still alive and well in the Twenty-First Century. (Surprise!) Today, however, was my FIRST experience with OVERT racism.

I was entering my apartment building around 5:30 p.m., after a long, yet productive day at work. I noticed this 70-ish-looking white woman (who lives in my building), struggling with numerous grocery bags AND an over-sized purse. She paused as I walked in front of her. When I got to the entrance of my building, I turned around and held the door open for her to enter. She says, "I'm gonna have to go through the basement entrance." I let the door go and went on about my business. As I'm checking my mailbox, I hear a bit of a commotion coming from the basement stairwell. I take a look, and it's the same woman. She rests her bags on the landing. I press the elevator button. When the elevator arrives, I open the door and say, "Are you coming?" She says, "I'm not getting in there with you!" "Excuse me?" I say, feeling blindsided. "You heard what I said!" she remarks. Well, that's when the "North Newark Girl" came out. I said, "You know what, you racist b---h! I was just trying to hold the door for you, and now I know not to. You f----n' c--t!" She didn't say another word. At first, I was really furious, because I don't like to go "there," as it applies to blessing somebody out. I try not to use profanity to get my point across (unless absolutely necessary), because I feel it takes me "out of character."

When I reached my apartment, I had a well-deserved ice-cream-crunch-bar, followed by a cigarette. And to paraphrase the late, great Richard Pryor, "...and I wasn't mad no more neither."

Summer Morden King Summer Morden King : What a crapy day today. It rained all day so I couldnt paint, the power went out untill 3:00. I didnt know you couldnt run watter without power if you have a well. Almost killed the well, by running the watter out of it. Had to pull apart the well house to fix it. Mashed my finger putting the top back on it and hurt my anckle stepping in a hole at the sametime. Tryed cleaning the coffe pot and made a big fat mess everywhere. The only thing that turned out right was the banana bread I made... Ah will there is always tomorrow

Chester Chetta Mullins Chester Chetta Mullins : Im soooo happy today, Me, Joe Casey Barnes, and the kiddos went camping and swimming last night. They had so much fun. Today also marks me being sober 1 year. 365 days ago, if you told me that I would be sober at all then I would have said ur crazy, but a year??? WOW. It was one of the hardest things I have ever done but well worth it. When I stopped getting high I was 110 pounds and now im 185 pounds and happier than I have ever been. So I hope I can stay sober for another year and the rest of my life. And I could have never, EVER been sober 1 day if it wasn't for E'llisha Douglas, Sheila Lassiter, Mike Godfrey, and Gusta Sams. I just wanna say THANK YALL FOR EVERYTHING. IT MEANS MORE TO ME THAN YOU WILL EVER KNOW.

I am an Atheist I am an Atheist : An interesting story from my childhood: My stepdad's whole family is Catholic, though none of them ever had a problem with me, save for one of his brothers and his wife and kids. I met them when I was 17, had just come home from hanging out with my friends, and granted I was dressed a little... "punked out". They judged me immediately and called me a "wild city girl" (they lived on a farm in bumfuck nowhere Oregon). My cousin, same age as me, was stuck up about her intentions to become a nurse, while they doubted I'd get anywhere in life and made that all too clear every chance they got. Well a few months later, I went on to University, and miss Holier-Than-Thou got knocked up because she doesn't believe in birth control. But apparently she believes in premarital sex. I got my degree in Linguistics and Earth and Space Science, and she got married to her loser boyfriend out of obligation. Bitch was one condom short of showing me up. - KZL

Brandi Jerry Rex Brandi Jerry Rex : Had one hell of an eventful day!!! 1st woke up early unable to breath very well (thank you allergy to cottonwood trees), then cleaned a bit only to destroy the house bombing for spiders, fleas, & such, then went to sonic to eat while the house aired out & Jerry blacked out completely!!! Myself, AceBulldog & Michael got sent into panic attacks over this. Jerry remembers finishing his onion rings & Michael talking about school then realizing he was on the ground looking up at the table & us around him. Ace was able to catch him so his head didn't hit the ground & paramedics were called by the manager. They checked him out & said he needed to be more careful & watch his sleep. Right now he is sleeping & we are all happy he is alright.

Annie Laurie Macy-Purinton Annie Laurie Macy-Purinton : 4 years ago today I was admitted to DHMC, where I stayed for 13 longggggg days while I underwent 3 surgeries just to stabilize me before they ran a series of many tests to determine that I in fact had Hodgkin's. Today is a day of reflection of how freakin lucky I am that I listened to my body that final day as my poor heart was working so hard so continue beating... Everything happened so fast and I was in denial that anything so serious could be happening to me. I went through the motions to stay alive and survive. It sucked, all of it!
Without my team of doctors and nurses as well as the support from family and friends, I wouldn't be here today to watch my baby grow up! Thank you to all who played a part in me being here today.... XOXO

Rainbowღ Rainbowღ : Part 10
Zach drove me to school , everyone was staring as we walked out and held hands . I felt famous. All these boys were looking at me . I felt beautiful ! I went to locker 101 the locker right next to Zach's !I forgot that I was new in school and I had to make friends ! A lot of girls started talking to me , one of them was names Destinie . Destinie was beautiful ! She had black hair and pretty eyes ! We got to know each other and we became instant friends , I gave her my number so we could talk and it was a pretty good day so far. Me and Zach met up . . I asked him for his Schedule so I could see if we had any classes together . We had 1st period , 2nd period , and 5th period together . I was excited , me , Destinie , and Zach both had gym ! My first period was with Zach , and we had science . I hated science at my old school , but since with it was with my baby , it was alright . He sat behind me . We were in the back of the room , a lot of people came up to us saying that's e am we're a good couple and trying to be friends with us . I met a girl name Haley . We started talking a lot about our boyfriends and stuff , since the teacher was in the room . Then , Zach decided he wanted to be the bad boy , he looked at me , grabbed me and started kissing me in front of everyone ! It was awesome , but a little embarrassing when the teacher walked in. I tried pulling away but it didn't work , he kept making out with me ! The teacher told us to stop , we both pulled away and sat in our desk. The order was Zach in the back , me in front of him , Haley in front of me , and this girl named Kendra in front of Haley . Me as Kendra started talking a little , but we didn't get to know each other well. Zach and me held hands while me and him were in the back ! It was so cute !
5+ like for more !

Kinloch Unites for Playground Kinloch Unites for Playground : OUR LITTLE PARK IS TAKING SHAPE
These last two days have been extremely rewarding! We had to cancel early today because it started to rain . Yesterday I came late because I had to suddenly take my son to the doctors. It was brought to my attention that the firefighters came and helped out with the back hoe and spreading mulch... Thank you so much we really are thankful for you guys! Councilman Richard Callendar came and helped and so many more you all have been Amazing !! Thank you!! Thank you to the children and teenagers who are helping and taking pride in their community!! We decided to let everyone eat and pick up another day for today because of the rain. Some of us stayed after because it had stopped raining... We made flower beds and gathered rocks from the hill side to line the flower beds! We do need more mulch for the flower beds. I went back to the park at 8:15 to get my son who was playing with 2 friends @ the park. There was also 10 teenagers playing football and baseball and enjoying the park as well!! It was a rewarding site!!!

Paige LaCombe Updates Paige LaCombe Updates : So today's appointment went great! We also managed to get another neurologist scheduled to get a 4th opinion for Monday in Baton Rouge. That's incredible being that's Memorial day. Tomorrow we have an ENT and dermatologist appointment and then Friday off to New Orleans. Gosh I hope things continue to go well. We did have some issues with Paige lastnight she started itching really bad again. I know that had to suck. I hope that goes away real soon.
Paige's Mimi and Nini came over brought dinner for the kids and Josh and I managed to leave and go have dinner. That was extremely nice but also nerve wrecking I haven't been away from Paige in a very long time. But it was needed for a break.
