Lil Wayne : It was never my intention to desecrate the flag of the United States of America. I was shooting a video for a song off my album entitled "God Bless Amerika". The clip that surfaced on the Internet was a camera trick clip that revealed that behind the American Flag was the Hoods of America. In the final edit of the video you will see the flag fall to reveal what is behind it but will never see it on the ground. In most people eyes including my own who were raised in that environment, the Hood is the only America they know and the only America I knew growing up. I was fortunate from my God giving talents to escape the Hood and see the other beautiful places this country has to offer but most people who are born in that environment don't get that chance. That's their view of their America. That was Dwayne M Carter from Hollygrove New Orleans view of America. That's who I'm speaking for in this song.

It’s a combination state visit and sight-seeing trip to Senegal, South Africa and Tanzania. The security is a massive undertaking. The Washington Post obtained an internal planning document showing that it will require hundreds of Secret Service agents, a Navy ship with fully-staffed hospital standing by at all times, 24-hour fly-overs by fighter jets to protect his air space, and 56 vehicles flown in by military cargo planes, including 14 limousines and three trucks loaded with sheets of bulletproof glass to cover the windows of the first family’s hotels. Estimated cost: between 60 and 100 million dollars. That’s actually in line with previous tours of Africa taken by Clinton and Bush. The big difference is that while they were gone, the White House wasn’t shut down because we didn’t even have the money to keep the building tours open.

In the days following the tragic events of the Boston Marathon, the entire country showed an outpouring of support for our city as it grieved. The Chicago Tribune not only sent the staff of the Boston Globe a ton of free pizza for their efforts, but published a touching tribute in their sports section, showing solidarity with the city by renaming its sports teams the Chicago Red Sox, Chicago Bruins, Chicago Celtics and so on.

[Yesterday] the Tribune published the above spread, seemingly reneging on its heartwarming message by showing a hand tearing out the Bruins from the newsprint. The caption reads, “Yeah, not right now we’re not.” The image appears in the Tribune’s special “Hawkeytown” section.

My heart broke.

You have to be f’n kidding me.

This makes me sick, I am disgusted.

To me this is worse than ignorance of the “Toronto Stronger” idiot or those morons in Pittsburgh.

This is like a close friend you trusted sleeping with your wife.

This is pure betrayal.

I thought, the city I loved second only to Boston, could separate sports from “real life”.

I guess not….
