Mitchell's Journey : Mitchell had his CT, X-ray and MRI yesterday and where he is usually very compliant with getting cannulas in even though they aren't very nice, yesterday he totally lost it and had a complete meltdown. It took a dr and 2 nurses nearly an hour to finally get the cannula in and he was hysterical throughout the entire procedure - totally broke my heart ! Luckily we arrived early and I had time to talk him around so that the MRI could go ahead. I have not seen him like this before so I know now that he is very anxious about the trip to
Brisbane and was obviously keeping it all inside in typical Mitchell style so it to worry anyone else! He had a good catch up with his friend Max last night which helped to diffuse the situation and he had a much better night sleep last night ! We are not due at the hospital until this afternoon for the results so I am trying to keep things calm for Mitchell but I am very worried! I have arranged for our wonderful OT to be there for Mitchell to have a chat and am keeping everything crossed that we finally get some better news today!

Ephphatha Ministries : A key to helping us understand the difference between the OT and NT (as I see many confused on this aspect) is understanding that the OT represents the physical and the NT represents the spiritual! Did both really happen, absolutely, but we must understand their applications to our lives are different because Jesus has become the Way, Truth, and Life. For instance, OT mighty men were warriors in the physical but Jesus battled in the spiritual, not physical...our example (Eph 6:12, Rom 12; 1 Peter 2). The OT had very wealthy men as a sign of favor and yet Jesus became "nothing", and says we will find our wealth in Heaven by our simplicity and sacrificial lives here (Luke 14). The OT had the Law written on stone and yet the NT says it becomes written on our hearts as we seek (2 Cor 3). The point is, if we try to live out the physical of the OT, we are then missing the life Jesus walked as well as the spiritual side of what He meant for His followers to walk in. In short, application of OT lifestyles as an imitation of Christ is not following Jesus because we are to walk as HE walked (1 John 2:6; Heb 12:1-2). For a more in depth look into that, pick up the Word, read about Jesus and how He lived...and then keep reading about the life of Paul as he said, "imitate me as I imitate Christ"...

Imperfect Parents : Excited mommy here!! Took lil guy to his 1st PT (eval) appt. He didn't to well but, that's ok ao many things he cannot do yet he can jump 37 inches!! Lol. The OT was walking around and after I got back to work they called and the OT is going to start seeing him in June!! There was a 6 month waiting list. I'm so happy he needs the OT desperately. He should start school this fall but due to his physical and social/emotional delays I feel it's best to wait a year. Ok I'm off my soap box now! Have a good night all

Celiac Disease : Hope everyone is having a good week. Trevor has been having a rough time around other kids this week. Me and my friend have been helping each other out babysitting. Trevor is getting some lessons on sharing which he is less then thrilled about. He is excited tho bc he got a tricycle that my friends little boy had grown out of. He has a break from dr appts this week but next week he has an appt to go over all the details from his scope earlier this month and he'll have OT. I have a dr appt tomorrow I've been getting hot spots all over my legs for some reason. Kayla has her bridging ceremony from daisy to brownie on thurs she's super excited. What's everyone else have planned for this week?

Jill Wang : Today was a down day for Chad but he will have days like today. Chad did his morning routine with OT and thats all he wanted to do. He didn't get out of bed until 2:30 for OT again. I had a talk with Chad explaining everyone here is helping you get back to your life, you need to do the therapy or you will be here longer. I told him if he went to OT I would have the kids come for a visit. Chad went to OT so they kids came for another visit! The visit went as well as the first visit. I'm glad the kids were able to come up tonight, I got a call that Chads surgery is tomorrow morning. This surgery is to fix the bones on the right side of his face, this is done by ENT. I am praying that with Chad having a little more understanding of things he will come out of this surgery better then the last one. Please say an extra prayer tonight for Chad, the team of doctors and his caregivers for tomorrow. Thank you all again for your support!
