Peggy Margaret Knipe Gish Peggy Margaret Knipe Gish : i came up from everett on the I-5, past the downed bridge, this afternoon....it was no problem, there's another bridge one block over, i routed thru there. The signs have people detouring WAY south and north which would add many miles but you can get off I-5 at Burlington, part of Mnt Vernon really, then scoot back over a mile or 2 south of the river. Only added 30 min. to the drive.
By the way, the Outlets at Burlington are WAY better deals than going all the way to Seattle Premium Outlets, you save REAL money! The SPO is really just a come-on, the stores are very expensive and don't offer real deals.
There is a fantastic selection at Burlington Outlets, right beside Costco. i shopped there today, after coming north across the river.... the people are super friendly, much less hassle than going further south. It's a quaint town, nice atmosphere, every store you'd want. Discover something new, it's worth it!!
I listened to radio all the way up, interview with the man whose truck and trailer went off the bridge into the River behind the Alberta truck who hit the structure. This is NOT making the radio reports because it's not sensational, BUT, according to him: - 'the Alberta truck was into the bridge, trying to move over due to his Wide load - for which he had a Permit - and an on-coming semi- truck from the south wouldn't give him space. The Alberta driver was boxed in and hit the structure.' So, hopefully that will all come out, it's just too easy to blame without knowing. Of course there was a wild rant into the station against lousy Canadian truck drivers, and i agree there are some BAD ones! But the Governor was on, explaining all that is being done, and telling Canadians to come on down and discover THe great areas north of the River and support that community!

Sani Mohammed Uzairu Sani Mohammed Uzairu : It promises to be fireworks at Wembley when Jurgen Klopp pitches his against Jupp Heynckes in the final of the most prestigious European club competition. Though Bayern Munich might boast of a formiddable team, the managerial prowess of Jurgen Klopp of Borussia Dortmund cannot be overlooked in the first ever German final. Sports analyst, pundits and conosseurs are already tipping the Bravarians to wear the crown but as a veteran football fun I enjoin the Bayern fans to be optimistically cautious, for having fought the odds to come this far the dark horse, Borussia Dortmund, will view the encounter as a do or die affair. Again, checks reveal that complacency has set in Bayern Side due to the 7-0 drubbing of the Camp Nou side in their semi-final face-off. Coach Jupp Heynckes of the Munich side might seek to leave an enduring legacy but the thought of him being replaced after building a compact team could result in tactical paralysis. Though the sloppyness of the Dortmund side was explosed by Real Madrid, their richness in depth, never say die spirit and their ability to compose themselves and rally around in the light of persistent pressure are their greatest weapon. Bayern Munich methink will be in for a rude awakening tonight if they under-estimate the strength of the Dortmund side. While the Dortmund fans seat Eastward in the Wembley Stadium, the Bayern fans will occupy the west. It will be bigger and mega tonight. It will be football made in Germany. Much will also depend on how the umpire refrees the game tonight. I support good football! I support fair play!! Who do you support? Folks, sport is huge!!!

Jared Sharp Jared Sharp : Metropolitan PHILARET of blessed memory, former First Hierarch of the Russian Orthdox Church Abroad, from his First Sorrowful Epistle
Perhaps somebody will say that times have changed, and heresies now are not so malicious and destructive as in the days of the Ecumenical Councils. But are those Protestants who renounce the veneration of the Theotokos and the Saints, who do not recognize the grace of the hierarchy,—or the Roman Catholics, who have invented new errors,—are they nearer to the Orthodox Church than the Arians or Semi-Arians?

Let us grant that modern preachers of heresy are not so belligerent towards the Orthodox Church as the ancient ones were. However, that is not because their doctrines are nearer to Orthodox teaching, but because Protestantism and Ecumenism have built up in them the conviction that there is no One and True Church on earth, but only communities of men who are in varying degrees of error. Such a doctrine kills any zeal in professing what they take to be the truth, and therefore modern heretics appear to be less obdurate than the ancient ones. But such indifference to truth is in many respects worse than the capacity to be zealous in defense of an error mistaken for truth. Pilate, who said "What is truth?" could not be converted; but Saul, the persecutor of Christianity, became the Apostle Paul. That is why we read in the Book of Revelation the menacing words to the Angel of the Church of Laodicea: "I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew thee out of my mouth" (iii. 15-16).

Oh yes I did. Oh yes I did. : So what i do (my job) is called a standardized patient. I act out scenarios based on scripts I am given to help up and coming medical students while they are learning/studying to become doctors/surgeons, nurses, etc. Sometimes it's pretty simple scenarios, other times, pretty intense. Yesterday I played a motorcycle accident victim. No helmet, wrecked and ended up under an 18 wheeler. Wanna see a pic of the kick ass make up job they did on me??? It's pretty gory, so I don't just wanna post it with no heads up....

Angela Desmond Angela Desmond : I hate to once again post semi-cryptic stuff about personal problems, but I need the support. It's been a relatively normal day, as they go lately. I hurt myself (only moderately), I attended medically-themed appointments for both Bryan and myself. Then I got some stuff done that needed to be taken care of on the productive-grown-up front (bills, insurance, bank and credit account stuff, etc.). We were both tired and I was feeling pretty awful.

We were about to take a nap in the hopes that we would feel well enough to attend the joint birthday party of some awesome people that we care about muchly. It would have been so good for the soul to celebrate with them and our mutual friends.

Then I got a private message. Now, I am in the process of responding to this message. And deciding on appropriate action to be sure that such things stay out of my facebookland. I need this place. To so many people it can be a distraction, a way to manage invites for parties, or a total time-waster. For me, it is a lifeline. It is one of the only ways that I have to try to stay in touch with my friends and family. I am (far too) often housebound for lengthy periods, and even when people can visit, I am not always able to handle it. So, I really use facebook for a lot of my support system. And as a way to actually keep up on the lives of those I care about. I also have support groups, I have interest groups, I have public action groups, and I have people who have been so kind to me and so supportive even though we have never met in real life. All that is in addition to my close friends and family who I have known forever.

I need facebook to be my outlet, my place to vent, and a large part of my social life and suppor system. But it still breaks my heart to block someone. I've never actually done it before.

A good friend invited me and when I told them my name for the list a bunch of the girls were all like "Ooooohhhh you're VitaminQ. A calico lady cat adopted the barn, had a litter of kittens with black semi tame cat of some duration here and brought little ones to supper. Came in to wash filthy hands and saw them. Of course they left as soon as I opened the door. Three, one calico, one black and one gray all piled up in a fur ball of new kittens. Colors may not be right. Made a good end to day that was fraught with a number of dead ends and do overs. As mentioned, O.J.T. is paid in not to be redeemed coin.
And, I am a tired fellow.

Jane Quinn Paramore Jane Quinn Paramore : WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! RANT COMING........

I am reading these articles about the BSA vote to allow gay boys into Scouts and to keep gay adults from leading troops. I am getting so stinkin' angry!!!!!! Here are my thoughts in a semi-organized manner:

1. Boy Scouts is a PRIVATE organization! They have the right to decide what their goals are and which adults should lead the groups that facilitate those goals! If you don't like what they are doing don't put your kid in! Start a group of your own.
2. Boys who are gay need the values that Scouting offers just as much as straight boys. Why would you bar them from that???? They don't have cooties or something that can "rub off" on your straight kid.
If you are opposed to their lifestyle, why are you not enraged that straight boys who sleep around are boy scouts (oh please don't tell me you think no scouts have sex), or that there are boy scouts who smoke weed, or drink too much (again....oh paleeeeese, don't even say it)??????
3. If you are a Christian and you are saying you don't want your son to be around "those" boys, then SHAME ON YOU. Jesus hung around with whores and tax collectors, losers, liars, and thieves. And He loved them. You and your boy scout should too. You don't have to condone their lifestyle. You just have to be loving and kind.

I think I'm finished. I'll let you know.

Richard Cayia Rowe Richard Cayia Rowe : In HBO’s ‘Behind the Candelabra,’ Liberace is a real drag     Sounds like CANDELABRA is SO BAD, I might HAVE to DVR it!
http://www.washingtonpost.com/entertainment/tv/in-hbos-behind-the-candelabra-liberace-is-a-real-drag/2013/05/23/45400bfe-c25b-11e2-9fe2-6ee52d0eb7c1_story.html
"... “Behind the Candelabra” is a costuming and cosmetic half-success, somewhere between freak show and amateur drag night. Michael Douglas stars as the famed pianist, dolled up and bedazzled, lisping his way through what turns out to be only a vague approximation of the older, 1970s/’80s-era Liberace — “Lee” to his inner circle — that most of us remember from variety shows. This is the faded celebrity in his semi-retiring Vegas years, surrounded by garish furnishings and yippy-yappy dogs that defecate on marble floors. Atmospherics are “Behind the Candelabra’s” strongest suit, re-creating a gauzy and unctuous realm of expensive cheapness..."
