Shahed Latif Shahed Latif : A 72 hour hartal is on place in Chittagong Hill Tracts. The reason is GOB has placed a bill in parliament to enact the disputed land issue for CHT. What we fail to understand is why are these Bengali people calling a hartal when they are occupying lands which belong to the Adivasi community. For years the settlers in the hill tracts backed with state and military mechanism have systematically occupied the land of CHT which is not their's on the first place. We urge the GOB to enact the land dispute regulation act as per the CHT peace accord of 97.Bengali settlers and all beneficiaries should be taken out of CHT and relocated in some other place of the country. The current Govt has a few months in hand so they need to deliver what they promised to the Adivasi people of Bangladesh. We do not want to see conspiracy in CHT any more. Too much if talks have taken place it is now time to deliver as to what has been said.

Diane Alden Diane Alden : I have said repeatedly . MOST of the intelligence gathering has been done for corporate or business purposes OR the NSA and CIA do spying for preferred corporate customers.. The Sunday Times (11 May, 1998) reported that early on the radomes at Menwith Hill (NSA station F83) in North Yorkshire UK, were given the task of intercepting international leased carrier (ILC) traffic - essentially, ordinary commercial communications. Its staff have grown from 400 in the 1980's to more than 1400 now with a further 370 staff from the MoD. The Sunday Times also reported allegations that conversations between the German company Volkswagen and General Motors were intercepted and the French have complained that Thompson-CSF, the French electronics company, lost a $1.4 billion deal to supply Brazil with a radar system because the Americans intercepted details of the negotiations and passed them on to US company Raytheon, which subsequently won the contract. Another claim is that Airbus Industrie lost a contract worth $1 billion to Boeing and McDonnell Douglas because information was intercepted by American spying. Other newspapers such as Liberation (21 April 1998) and Il Mondo (20 March 1998), identify the network as an Anglo-Saxon Spy network because of the UK-USA axis. Privacy International goes further. "Whilst recognising that "strictly speaking, neither the Commission nor the European Parliament have a mandate to regulate or intervene in security matters ... they do have a responsibility to ensure that security is harmonised throughout the Union."

Apparently Mr Trudeau *increased* his fees since becoming an MP, going from around $5000 per event prior to being elected, to $20,000 last year. What a guy!

John F. Di Leo John F. Di Leo : The American Revolution - (The Battle of Bunker (Breeds) Hill )     June 17: On this day in 1775, the American colonists fought the Battle of Bunker Hill.

It is said that the British won the battle (in the end, the Brits took the hill), but with losses like they sustained, it was something of a pyrrhic victory: the colonists suffered only half the fatalities and a third as many injuries as they inflicted on the redcoats that bloody day.

Again I must mention... Blame George III. The good people of Parliament didn't want this war, and neither did the American colonists. But George III mixed the powder, lit the match, and kept feeding the flame.

John F. Di Leo

Sandra Harris Sandra Harris : Former Senate staffer under RCMP investigation over renovation project     "Until now, federal politicians have mostly avoided the fallout from Quebec corruption investigations that have seen municipal and provincial politicians and officials charged.

Pichet has been linked to the $9-million renovation of the north tower of the West Block of Parliament Hill, through Gilles Varin, a colourful Quebec Tory-linked lobbyist who died in 2011.

The investigation is being conducted by Montreal’s commercial crime division, which, an RCMP source says, is now evaluating the evidence."

Dave Musgrove Dave Musgrove : Had a nice ride to work today. Then some fool in a dump truck took offense to me passing him at a set of lights, so felt it necessary to try squeeze me into some park cars as he raced to the next set of lights. Logically, I safely passed him at this set of lights too and waited for the lights to go green. He was in the left turn lane and got a green light (I was waiting to go straight). As he passed me, he’d put his window down so he could let me know I was a f@$king f@$got C@$t etc. But he had to stop mid intersection because Parramatta Rd was backed up, so I emptied my water bottle into his open window. He got a little irate, unleashed a few more expletives, threw things out his window (hitting other cars), and then changed lanes and chased me up the road going straight now. Blasting his horn and yelling out, he pulled over, jumped out and wanted to fight me. He was spewing about the “water” I sprayed at him. I asked why he tried to knock me off my bike and why he felt it necessary to swear at me as he drove past, but he couldn’t get over my violent act of spraying him with “water”. He tried to chase me on foot, but carbon road bikes roll pretty well down a hill. So I kept my distance.
I hope he enjoys waiting another 10 minutes to get onto Parramatta Rd again, and then cleaning off the sticky electrolyte that is currently drying throughout his truck.

I mean for goodness sake, two Members of Parliament fought and all they had to do was say sorry.

So what is the big deal with some dancing and some phones going off in an assembly?

Just saying. Are leaders not to be followed?

Pete Barbar Pete Barbar : On February 4th, 2013, Vladimir Putin, the Russian president, addressed the Duma, (Russian Parliament), and gave a speech about the tensions with
minorities in Russia:

"In Russia live Russians. Any minority, from anywhere, if it wants to live in Russia, to work and eat in Russia, should speak Russian, and should respect the Russian laws. If they prefer Sharia Law, then we advise them to go to those places where that's the state law. Russia does not need
minorities. Minorities need Russia, and we will not grant them special privileges, or try to change our laws to fit their desires, no matter how loud they yell 'discrimination'. We better learn from the suicides of
America, England, Holland and France, if we are to survive as a nation. The Russian customs and traditions are not compatible with the lack of
culture or the primitive ways of most minorities. When this honorable legislative body thinks of creating new laws, it should have in mind the
national interest first, observing that the minorities are not Russians".

The politicians in the Duma gave Putin a standing ovation for five minutes.
