White House chief of staff Denis McDonough and other senior presidential advisers knew in late April that an upcoming report was likely to find that IRS employees had inappropriately targeted conservative political groups.

That disclosure on Monday expanded the known circle of top officials who were aware of the audit beyond those identified earlier by the White House.

The White House says McDonough and the other advisers did not tell President Barack Obama about the impending report, leaving him to learn the results from news reports later.

The White House defended the decision to keep the president in the dark, with press secretary Jay Carney saying Obama was comfortable with the fact that "some matters are not appropriate to convey to him, and this is one of those".

المقاومة والصمود والتحدي : Iran Calls for Peaceful Solution to Crisis in Syria

TEHRAN, (SANA) – Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Abbas Araqchi reiterated his country's call to solve the crisis in Syria peacefully and reject any solution that is imposed on the Syrian people from abroad.

In a press conference on Tuesday, Araqchi said that Iran attendance in Geneva forthcoming meeting will improve Iran's views regarding the crisis in Syria, as Iran does not image any solution for the crisis except for a dialogue between the government and the opposition.

He pointed out that Iran's response on attending the Geneva meeting will be "positive" if it was invited.

He asserted that the conference of the friends of Syria due to be held in Tehran by the end of the month is an Iranian proposal that aims at helping find a solution to the crisis in Syria peacefully.

Araqchi said that Iran invited many countries and international organizations to attend the "Friend of Syria" meeting in Tehran, adding that "We hope that the meeting will be held as scheduled as to help solve the crisis through political means."

He said that restoring security and peace in Syria through political means will help consolidate peace in the whole region, adding that Tehran considers the regional consultations which meet the interests of Syria more important than the international ones, "That is why Tehran had welcomed the regional consultations, such as the quartet Committee."

Earlier, Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs announced that the "Friends of Syria" meeting will be held in Tehran on 29th of April.

This was confirmed by the KPL CEO Jack Oguda

Growing rift
There has been a rift between pay television
channels Zuku and Supersport after the former
signed a contract with the club [AFC] Leopards to
broadcast their club activities.
The meeting come only a day after the AFC and
Zuku held a press conference in Nairobi to explain
their position on the matter
that has now caught the attention of football
stakeholders.
Supersport already has a contract with the
Kenyan Premier League for the league's
broadcasting rights. The show is however set for
roll out next month is all goes as planned.

There will be a press conference in support of our toxic chemical
campaign on Thursday at 11am. The press conference will include Coach Calhoun and our old friend, the large inflatable rubber duckie, which we used during the BPA campaign a few years ago. We are encouraging our legislators to support an amendment to HB6489. This amendment calls for the identification and phasing out of toxic chemicals of high concern.*

On Wednesday there will be some activities to oppose the proposal to purchase hydroelectric power from Canada at the expense of local wind and solar development. This will also be an opportunity to inquire about what deals may be in the works regarding incineration and efforts to classify incineration as renewable energy. People will meet at 10 am for lobbing
and 1pm on the sidewalk on Capital Avenue , right in front of the Capital building, for a rally. I will need to confirm the location people are meeting for lobbying, but I am guessing it will be at the LOB.

activities or further questions. I hope to have a room number for the Thursday press conference soon.
