Dave Lawrence Dave Lawrence : Timeline Photos     Broadmoor Technical School and the Shawnee Mission School District broke ground today on the Broadmoor Urban Farm!

Chef Bob got on the tractor for a lesson in disking from Ray, the school’s tractor operator.

Joann Schwarberg, Cultivate Kansas City Board member, and Katherine Kelly, Executive Director, joined more than 140 students from the Shawnee Mission School District Technical Center, along with members of the Shawnee Mission School District Board, the Shawnee Mission Education Foundation, and educational and administrative staff in the start of this new educational and production farm.

The ¼ acre farm will grow a wide range of vegetables, with the food going into the Culinary Program kitchen and throughout the school district for nutrition education. The culinary students will learn more about how food is grown, deepening their understanding of the ingredients they cook with and the farmers who grow them and adding new skills to their culinary resumes. Cultivate Kansas City has been working with teachers Bob Brassard and Justin Hoffman to develop a food and farming component to the educational program.

Today, the students:

Spread 18 square yards of Missouri Organic compost (only 80 more to go!)
Planted 600 feet of seed potatoes- including gourmet varieties of Mountain Rose, Purple Majesty, La Ratte fingerlings, and the most glowingly beautiful Yukon Golds you’ve ever seen!

Look for more updates as the project develops!     Broadmoor Urban Farm!

Qiuncy Willis Neloms Qiuncy Willis Neloms : Good Morning fb friends, Thanking God for another!!!!Beautiful Day!!!! Sunshine is lovely, having my coffee, and been out looking at my roses just lovely. hope all are well. I've watched the petals of a rose Unfold to greet the day. I've seen bright tulips opening To catch the sunbeam's ray. I've seen the golden daffodils Emerge from frozen sod to grace the springtime fields and hills... Still some say there's no God? I've seen the yellow sunflowers Give folk a cheerful nod That lightened hearts who passed their way... Still some say there's no God? I've watched the crimson sunset's glow, The mountains majesty . I've seen a brilliant redbird perch Upon a snow-clad tree. And still some doubt, I know they must Not see things I see. Each day is filled with miracles. what more proof need there be? all have a blessed day.

Robert Griffin Robert Griffin : "Up from the dark and fertile soil the angel rose, out of the deep ocean waters, down from the rolling clouds of sweet scented rain, through the mist shrouded mountain forests and over the sleeping plain, the angels of the Earth came from all four sacred directions, bringing with them the totems of all God's creatures, the family of life, gathered to receive the hand of their creator as blessing and benediction. I saw all of this and stood in awe at the majesty of the life we share on this bright blue ball, turning ever so silently in splendor. We are stewards. We are caretakers. We are breath embodied, the kin of all that is and ever was." by Steven Charleston

PRESENCE..........................There was no emptiness, no cause for tears, When I went back to Arunachala...And trod the ways that for these many years...Shone with God's Grace in form of Ramana.......A living quietude throbbed in the air, Peace in the earth and solace in the trees, And the great hill rose, tender and aware, Simple as Truth, as full of mysteries.......His Presence so pervaded, it had been ...No wonder or fulfilment, only Grace,... At any sudden turning to have seen...The majesty of the beloved face.......And then I sat in silence, as of old, Before Him...Like a sudden wave...His mighty Peace surged through me to enfold...In Knowledge-Being beyond birth and grave.......Peace is not languor but intensest life...Whereon events float in a shallow stream...Too slight for prayer and tinkling into strife,...Unreal, as though one waking saw a dream.......Ineffable, beyond the range of thought,...The timeless Peace that from His Presence flows; Even vaster now the wealth of Grace He brought...Through human form and formless now bestows.....................By A. Ronald L Kelly Jr. Ronald L Kelly Jr. : My Brothers Keeper PART EIGHT

Micah 7:8 ESV / Rejoice not over me, O my enemy; when I fall, I shall rise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord will be a light to me.

Psalm 1:1-6 ESV Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous;

Nehemiah 4:14 ESV / And I looked and arose and said to the nobles and to the officials and to the rest of the people, “Do not be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome, and fight for your brothers, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your homes.”

Genesis 4:8-10 ESV Cain spoke to Abel his brother. And when they were in the field, Cain rose up against his brother Abel and killed him. Then the Lord said to Cain, “Where is Abel your brother?” He said, “I do not know; am I my brother's keeper?” And the Lord said, “What have you done? The voice of your brother's blood is crying to me from the ground.

Hebrews 11:17 ESV / By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promises was in the act of offering up his only son,

Hebrews 1:3 ESV / He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

Scott Swart Scott Swart : Evening Reading
"Who is even at the right hand of God."—Ro 8:34
He who was once despised and rejected of men, now occupies the honourable position of a beloved and honoured Son. The right hand of God is the place of majesty and favour. Our Lord Jesus is His people's representative. When He died for them they had rest; He rose again for them, they had liberty; when He sat down representative. When He died for them they had rest; He rose again for them, they had liberty; when He sat down at His Father's right hand, they had favour, and honour, and dignity. The raising and elevation of Christ is the elevation, the acceptance, and enshrinement, the glorifying of all His people, for He is their head and representative. This sitting at the right hand of God, then, is to be viewed as the acceptance of the person of the Surety, the reception of the Representative, and therefore, the acceptance of our souls. O saint, see in this thy sure freedom from condemnation. "Who is he that condemneth?" Who shall condemn the men who are in Jesus at the right hand of God?

The right hand is the place of power. Christ at the right hand of God hath all power in heaven and in earth. Who shall fight against the people who have such power vested in their Captain? O my soul, what can destroy thee if Omnipotence be thy helper? If the aegis of the Almighty cover thee, what sword can smite thee? Rest thou secure. If Jesus is thine all-prevailing King, and hath trodden thine enemies beneath His feet; if sin, death, and hell are all vanquished by Him, and thou art represented in Him, by no possibility canst thou be destroyed.
"Jesu's tremendous name
Puts all our foes to flight:
Jesus, the meek, the angry Lamb,
A Lion is in fight.
"By all hell's host withstood;
We all hell's host o'erthrow;
And conquering them, through Jesu's blood
We still to conquer go."
