"Daft Punk bring house back to an era of disco/funk long lost in the 1970's. Trading off their signature brand of seizure inducing mashup electro, perfected throughout the 2000's, DP give it's fans a history lesson. Many will find this album falling flat of their expectations, but disco house is timeless music and those searching for a ketamine/MDMA fueled electro buzz will find nothing of that sort here. Synth arpeggios counterpoint a live band whom the duo no doubt meticulously cultivated. The album sounds as if it were played live, by a live band, on live instruments. Electronic music of this musicianship is unseen in this age. Whether or not the music on Random Access Memories stands the test of time is to be seen, but they deserve an A for effort. They made what sounds like a tribute to Giorgio Moroder's "Baby Blue", and nothing like the electrobangfest they had become, thereby alienating the uneducated mass of teenage fans that had become baggage on their image."
