Many doubts were cast over whether Chelsea's decision to pay £32 million for Eden Hazard would pay off, but after his stunning debut season in England, the former Lille winger would be happy to silence those critics.
One of them was Sir Alex Ferguson, who suggested that Hazard was overpriced (Sky Sports). He may well be retired, but missing out on the 22-year-old at Old Trafford is perhaps one of few regrets the Scot will have.
With lightning pace and agility, Hazard brings an extra spice to Chelsea's game that not even Juan Mata or Oscar can bring to the table.
His direct running and positive attitude when on the ball is a joy to behold, and his contribution to the team has been superb—13 goals and 25 assists, to be exact.
Hazard was cruelly ruled out of the Europa League final with a hamstring injury he suffered against Aston Villa, but would have been delighted with his part in helping Frank Lampard become the club's new all-time record goalscorer.
There must also be an honourable mention for promising youngster Nathan Ake, who has come leaps and bounds this season. Beginning the season with the youth side under Dermot Drummy, he made his full debut as a starter against Rubin Kazan in Moscow, and also started the last game of the season against Everton.
The Dutch starlet is highly regarded at Stamford Bridge and is set to play a bigger part next season and is fully deserving of the mention. 2 hours ago - View -

Jennifer Graves : Well....Wes and I got the wind knocked out of our sails today!!! We were all ready to close on our new house and at the very last minute they claimed that the numbers were wrong on the finial paperwork and because it is a holiday weekend it would not be fixed until next week!!! We had our electricity, heat, cable and water being shut off tomorrow and turned on at the new house......whole house in boxes, moving crew hired with trucks, Art Van furniture delivery coming , direct TV install..... Lots of friends and family lined up and waiting to help. ALL BEING CANCELED...... And three little boys bummed that it is now not happening at all this weekend ;0(. With all the bad news and crap that has happened in the last few days it is still hard for me to get too upset about everything....... I look at it like this. My children are safe and healthy, we both have great jobs, awesome friends and family, we are all together under one roof over our heads and food to eat!!! I am stepping back and counting all my blessings and looking at everything in a different light!!!! It's just a bump in the road and soon we will all be in our new home and happy.......some times you need to look at what's truly important in life, and I have everything I need!!! 11 hours ago - View -

Only Idiots think Jodi Arias is Innocent : While I am deeply disappointed with the outcome of the penalty phase, mainly because of the Alexander's, it really bothers me to see so many people going off on the jury in such a manner. Those 12 people gave her first degree murder. They didn't buy her lies. They also quickly determined there was an aggravating factor of extreme cruelty. On top of that, 8 of them wanted her to get death. Twice as many as life. And the ones who wanted the death penalty were unwilling to to waiver, they felt that strongly about it.
Can you imagine how hard it must be for them to come this far and not be able to reach a verdict on the penalty? It must be horrible for them. Then to hear people saying such terrible things about them....I just think it is wrong. I am upset, I wanted her to get death because it is what she deserves but I will not take part in an attack on this jury. Honestly, I think it would be difficult to find a jury that wouldn't hang because there will be that ONE person who will think she snapped and will see it as some type of mitigating factor. WHY, I don't know but its just how some people are. I will never understand that way of thinking myself. If I ran the world, murderers would die in the same manner that they killed. Because that seems only fair.
But PLEASE, let's not attack this jury as a whole because they did NOT believe her lies. She is a convicted first degree murderer because of them. A group of real idiots may have given her 2nd degree. Yes, this SUCKS but this jury did a great job right up until the disappointing end. Lets give them credit, especially the 8 who wanted the ultimate justice for Travis. They saw this through all the way to the end. They just had an obstacle they could not overcome. 20 hours ago - View -

Aubrey Mason : An opinion piece sent to The Hill for publication;
Something that I - and a few hundred million Americans - do not understand.....
How is it that actions, crimes committed by those in power no longer hold consequence for those in power that commit them - yet if a common citizen were to commit an identical crime.... they would hang?
How is it that the very body of elected men and women who are Constitutionally required to deal with the above crimes... fail to do so and citizens rights are trampled by those in power at their whim?
Have we already become a socialist State and those in power just haven't informed us yet????

Scott Hahn : Lots of people are criticizing Pope Francis' teaching earlier this week, as if he's deviating from the Church's teaching on the need to proclaim the good news... Contrary to what you may read in the media, please notice, nowhere does he even suggest - much less teach - that avowed atheists are saved. Instead, what he actually says is so obviously true and open to a perfectly fair and benign reading:
1. We shouldn't be so critical of outsiders that we don't allow ourselves to see or acknowledge whatever good they do, or truth they affirm (even atheists).
2. Christ didn't die to save only catholics/christians, but everybody (even atheists).
3. Since all are redeemed by Christ - at least potentially - we should be looking for ways to build bridges with them in order to actualize that redemptive potential, by showing them that whatever truth and goodness they embrace comes from - and leads to - Christ. 22 hours ago - View -
Anthony OutOfthisworld Etuk : one little Spanish delight
that continues to show his remarkable and incredible importance to the
Chelsea team. Juan Mata bought from Valencia for £23 million pounds,
has proven to be one of the shrewdest of Chelsea’s buys in many years.
In the course of the 2012/13 season, Mata made a staggering 64
appearances. His reliability was vital in a hectic schedule. As if that wasn’t enough, in those 64 appearances, Mata managed to notch up 20 goals
and 29 assists. That’s 49 combined goals/assists in 64 games. These kinds of numbers are downright impressive on a page, but
watching Mata play really highlights his crucial role in Chelsea’s team.
While Hazard or Lampard have the ability to create something out of
nothing, Juan Mata is the centrepiece of the whole team. He constantly
looks to get on the ball and bring other players in to the game. Mata
takes responsibility, and actively looks to influence the general tone and pace of the play. He makes the whole team tick, and his absence causes
big problems. With a new manager coming in, it remains to be seen what Mata’s role
will be in the forthcoming season. A new manager may wish to play a
more traditional 4 – 4 – 2, and this would force Mata to play in a more
wide role similar to the one Hazard has played all season. The big
difference is that Hazard is a direct attacker – Mata is more of a
playmaker. While he might do an admirable job on a wing, he can directly influence the game more effectively than any other Chelsea player
when playing in an attacking central role. I sincerely hope that the
incoming manager sees this too, because it really is very hard to argue
with 49 goals and assists from 64 games! 1 day ago - View -

Guys, let the video go through to the next one where Donavan Bering complains about Arias' family not being in court to hear the verdict. Two close friends of Travis Alexander, Dave Hall and Shaun Alexander, expressed their frustration Thursday over the hung jury in the penalty phase of Jodi Arias' trial. “Everybody keep praying for the Alexander family," Hall told HLN's Nancy Grace. "They really need it right now.” Watch the video: http://www.hlntv.com/video/2013/05/23/nancy-grace-dave-hall-arias-verdict-reaction 1 day ago - View -
