Larry Curtis : Ok ok ok ok...anyone who knows me knows that I have never been a fan of our current President, or of many members of his Cabinet. Lately, well for quite some while really, I have been seeing a lot of people posting things about IMPEACHING him. That's well and good, and it is your right to express such sentiment...but I want to know, and I am serious, just what does that mean? What effect will that have? What will it accomplish? Will it REALLY be a GOOD thing? I'm just thinking back to the 1990s when it was decided to impeach President Bill Clinton...what was the result? What came out of THAT? What effect did THAT have? It didn't remove him from office. And just think about what it would be like if Obama was removed from office...who would be in charge of running the country then? I don't believe, at this point, that we are looking very good on the depth chart. Do you REALLY see Joe Biden as Presidential material? Or even John Boehner? I'm sure this post may draw some spirited comments, and maybe even some downright hateful ones as well...to include name-calling and character-bashing...but basically I'm a little weary of seeing all of this stuff and knowing that nothing will REALLY be done about any of it. And if, by some chance, something DOES get done to effect a change...what will it really lead to? Will it really be good for the country? Don't misunderstand...I feel strongly that those who are derelict need to be dealt with quite harshly, maybe even jailed, regardless of political party affiliation. But we also have to be thinking ahead as well.

A day or two ago I mentioned the look on McCains face when he was speaking and I called it a Joe Biden kind of look. WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama is planning a mental health conference next month in response to gun violence.

Presidential spokesman Jay Carney said Obama and Vice President Joe Biden plan to host the conference June 3 at the White House. Carney said attendees will include mental health advocates, health care providers, faith leaders, government officials, educators and people who have experienced mental health problems.

Carney said they will discuss how to reduce the stigma for those struggling with mental health problems so they will reach out for help.

Carney noted that the vast majority of those with mental health conditions are not violent and are more likely to be victims than perpetrators of crimes.
