Where there is no vision, the people perish. Proverbs 29:18 (KJV)
Have you ever been part of a team that didn't seem to make any progress? Maybe the group had plenty of talent, resources, and opportunities, and team members got along, but the group just never went anywhere. There's a strong possibility that the situation was caused by lack of vision.
Great vision precedes great achievement. Every team needs a compelling vision to give it direction. A team without vision is at worst, purposeless. At best, it is subject to the personal-and sometimes selfish-agendas of various teammates.
Author Ezra Earl Jones points out: "Leaders do not have to be the greatest visionaries themselves. The vision may come from anyone. The leaders do have to state the vision, however. Leaders also have to keep the vision before the people and remind them of the progress that is being made to achieve the vision. Otherwise, the people might assume that they are failing and give up."
If you lead your team, then you are responsible for identifying a worthy and compelling vision and articulating it to your team members. 1 minute ago - View -

Cyrus of Persia conquered Babylon in 538 BC and offered Israel its freedom, “The Lord, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth, and he has charged me to build him a house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Whoever is among you of all his people… let him go” (Ezra 1:2-3). The order was firm, Cyrus would free the people and aid the rebuilding of their home and their temple. The acceptance was optional, “whoever among you.” Jerusalem was a 700-mile journey, and the comforts of Babylon would not accompany them. Israel had grown accustomed to captivity, and only 42,360 accepted the offer (Ezra 1:64), a fraction of the Jewish population. Josephus, the Jewish-Roman historian of the first century, said it simply, “Many remained in Babylon, not wishing to leave their possessions behind them.” The proverbial captive monkey whose hand is caught in the jar because he refuses to let go of the banana.
We become accustomed to the ways of this world; so much so, that many prefer the chains of sin to the freedom offered in Christ. “For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery” (Galatians 5:1); yet many choose the comfort of captivity.
My God, You left the pleasure of heaven itself, You emptied Yourself, You became like me to save me. Thank You for letting go for my sake. Why in the world do I hang on to this world so tightly? I must let go for my sake, as well.
Keep changing my heart, oh God, to delight in You, to love Your ways. Help me hate sin and seek Your goodness and righteousness. May Your Word fill my heart, transform my mind, change my life, and set me free.

Charles Rod Hembree : Quick Study MAY 21 2013 Today we study Ezra 10:1-8 on Quick Study. : Ezra, the fifth century BC priest / scribe of Israel, was a powerfully wise guy. The last chapter of Ezra’s personal journal (which we now call the book of Ezra) shows the power of personal responsibility. It is wise to TAKE responsibility in a world which tosses it away in the name of individual freedom. The lack of personal responsibility is the reason for the current (and still to come!)political and economic disasters. But like Ezra, God’s people are called to RESCUE and RESTORE until Jesus Christ RETURNS. Ezra shows us how. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZxVx5lLdGtU&list=UUEwEt3rCryW3phyQIkT63BA&index=4 Watch the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZxVx5lLdGtU&list=UUEwEt3rCryW3phyQIkT63BA&index=4 38 minutes ago - View -

For I was ashamed to request of the king an escort of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy on the road, because we had spoken to the king, saying, “The hand of our God is upon all those for good who seek Him, but His power and His wrath are against all those who forsake Him.” So we fasted and entreated our God for this, and He answered our prayer. / Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith. (Ezra 8:22,23 / Galatians 6:7-10) 1 hour ago - View -
