Batang Alakdan Batang Alakdan : Certified proof from the Library of Congress; found by the research of Jack Herer, refuting claims of other government agencies that the 1942 USDA film 'Hemp for Victory' did not exist.

Hemp cultivation and production do not harm the environment. The USDA Bulletin #404 concluded that hemp produces 4 times as much pulp with at least 4 to 7 times less pollution. From Popular Mechanics, Feb. 1938:

'It has a short growing season...It can be grown in any state...The long roots penetrate and break the soil to leave it in perfect condition for the next year's crop. The dense shock of leaves, 8 to 12 feet above the ground, chokes out weeds.
...hemp, this new crop can add immeasurably to American agriculture and industry.'

In the 1930s, innovations in farm machinery would have caused an industrial revolution when applied to hemp. This single resource could have created millions of new jobs generating thousands of quality products. Hemp, if not made illegal, would have brought America out of the Great Depression.

William Randolph Hearst (Citizen Kane) and the Hearst Paper Manufacturing Division of Kimberly Clark owned vast acreage of timberlands. The Hearst Company supplied most paper products. Patty Hearst's grandfather, a destroyer of nature for his own personal profit, stood to lose billions because of hemp.

In 1937, Dupont patented the processes to make plastics from oil and coal. Dupont's Annual Report urged stockholders to invest in its new petrochemical division. Synthetics such as plastics, cellophane, celluloid, methanol, nylon, rayon, Dacron, etc., could now be made from oil. Natural hemp industrialization would have ruined over 80% of Dupont's business.

Ellie Foumbi Ellie Foumbi : Saw the Great Gatsby last night. I was really moved by Leo's performance. I thought Luhrmann's adaptation was very interesting and I like that he put is own stamp on this classic story we all know so well. It reminded me of Citizen Kane. Especially Leo's final frames. Rather powerful and tragic. Lana Del Rey's memorizing track was my favorite in the film.

Ted T Fiddler Ted T Fiddler : I've found the Blu-ray format to be a mixed bag for the most part. Crappy menus that pop up and stay on screen way too long, Pointless transfers (Like the Citizen Kane disk supposedly from the negative?), Forced downloads for trailers and content I don't want to see, Piracy warnings in foreign languages on disks that only play in Region (1) BEFORE the movie? But every once in a while something comes along that lives up to the hype and just totally blows me away. Tonight I acquired the Blu-Ray of the restored Lawrence Of Arabia and I'm stunned! I can see the grains of sand under their feet! Absolutely Amazing images, and they remixed the sound and got rid of most of my original objections of which I actually got into a texting match with Richard Harris himself over... It's one of the best transfers of a classic movie I've seen since Errol Flynn's Robin Hood and the 2001 Blu-ray. It's what bothering to assemble all this gear in my home was all about. If you have a high def system, I recommend this disk. You won't be disappointed.... You have to love this movie to begin with though. I know there are those of you out there that think this movie is highly over rated and for you, I wouldn't bother, but for me... I'm looking forward to an evening at the movies with this disk some evening very soon.

Well, he's turning into something called organized labor, and you don't like that at all. Ray Comfort Ray Comfort : "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.” (Matthew 5:43-45)

These particular words were spoken to and written for Christians, because if you love God and stand for what He stands for, you will be hated by those who hate and deny Him. When we love those that the Bible calls our enemies, pray for them, and tell them the truth about the reality of Hell and the need to repent and trust the Savior, we are merely imitating God. He shows them great kindness. He gives them life, and allows them to enjoy the life-giving sun and rain—without which we would all be dead.

Billions of people have come and gone in this life, but all of them fall into just two categories—the just and the unjust. Either you are justified (made right with God by His grace in Jesus Christ), or you are in your sins and will face the justice of God on Judgment Day. Which category are you in today? Please give this question serious thought, because you may not be here tomorrow.

Scottish Independence Scottish Independence : Nigel Farage and Alex Salmond trade insults in battle of nationalists     "I hold no candle for Nigel Farage but if leaders of democratic parties with substantial support are to be driven out of Scotland under police protection, it's not going to be much of an advertisement for visitors and investors."

"The whole event had a very anti-English character, it was very ugly. The language and behaviour of the protesters and the pathetic response of the police, who couldn't even secure a press event held by the third party of the state, doesn't say much for Scotland if it wishes to become independent. This kind of roughhouse is only justified against fascist leaders, and Farage is definitely not a fascist." - George Galloway

Does he have a point or is he only saying this because he is anti-independence? - George Galloway

Lord Foulkes of Cumnock, the former Labour Scotland minister, said: "There is an element of anti-English sentiment and there is a fairly nasty side to a few on the periphery of the nationalist movement – not in the mainstream. There is a pretty nasty element [in Scottish nationalism] who are exceptionally rude and vitriolic on social networks. But to be fair to Kevin Pringle [SNP strategic communications director] and Nicola Sturgeon [SNP deputy first minister] they have tried to curb them."

To the people doubting what I was saying about that kind of behaviour being counter-productive to the YES campaign, this is exactly what I was talking about.

Tony Vitale Tony Vitale : Bryan Johnson and I went to see Star Trek: Into Darkness last night ... while it was a fun JJ Abrams film, it lacked that certain quality that a Roddenberry production should have ... there was a lack of depth to the characters, particularly the fringe ones (Scotty, Chekhov, etc) .. and far too much violence (my god, the city of San Francisco loses half its high rises near the end!)

Senator Bob Corker Senator Bob Corker : Corker on U.S. Cash to Karzai: "What if Other Countries Were Doing This?"     Speaking yesterday on CNN about his continued quest for answers from the Obama administration regarding the CIA's secret payments to Afghan President Hamid Karzai, Senator Corker wondered how the U.S. would react to other countries providing these payments. "[T]he fact we're taking suitcases full of cash and giving it to this democratically elected leader and possibly to relatives in other parts of the country, to me that is totally the antithesis of what [our] country represents," said Corker. "If we knew Russia or Iran or some other country was delivering suitcases full of cash to the Afghan president, how would we view that? I don't know why we're doing this...I want a public explanation as to why our country would be engaged in this kind of behavior."
