Dave Nieweg Dave Nieweg : RUSH in the 2013 R&R Hall of Fame .. that's what I am sayin'. Honest rock & roll with integrity and a perfect choice for their performance.

Invisible airwaves crackle with life
Bright antennae bristle with the energy
Emotional feedback on timeless wavelength
Bearing a gift beyond price, almost free

All this machinery making modern music
Can still be open hearted
Not so coldly charted
It's really just a question of your honesty, yeah
Your honesty

One likes to believe in the freedom of music
But glittering prizes and endless compromises
Shatter the illusion of integrity

Marcelo Terra Marcelo Terra : Rush-Bastille Day (Lyrics)     O Dia da Bastilha

Mwombe Wabuge Peter Mwombe Wabuge Peter : NORWAY-The 17th of May - A historical date and a day of
national celebrations. Syttende Mai
By Knut Mykland
The author of the following article, Knut Mykland, is a professor at the Institute of History in the University of Bergen.
The United States has the 4th of July as its National Day commemorating the American Declaration of Independence. The French celebrate the 14th of July in memory of the storming of the Bastille and the downfall of l'ancien regime. The 17th of May is Norway's National Day. In the history of Norway, 17 May 1814 marks both the country's declaration of independence and the triumph of constitutional government. In order to understand the dominant place occupied by the celebration of the 17th of May in the national consciousness it is necessary to view it against its historical background.

Cest Lavie Boheme Cest Lavie Boheme : Life is interesting when you are interested; life is exciting when you are excited; life is fun when you make things fun. I am rarely bored, but when I am, it is not the people (or lack of them) that I am around, or the place, or even what I am doing-- it is when I have become boring. Been chatting with my old friend Jef, who last year on this day became a bodiless spirit. One of the reasons we always had such a great time together, even when our lives/bodies/ambitions/etc were less than perfect, is that we were true partners in creating fun, in making the party happen no matter where we were or who we were with. Dead people really understand how important a skill that is to develop, and how much potential awesomeness even the dreariest moment, in the most seemingly dismal life, holds. Have fun, peeps, as often as you can.

Chuck Warn Chuck Warn : Avenue des Champs Elysées     On July 14, 1989 I took a wrong turn down this closed to traffic Avenue in a rental car right into a parade for the Bastille Day 200th Anniversary...French cops decided to just chase me away rather than gum up their holiday filling out forms on some crazy American. I was prepared to play the "my Dad was a D-Day vet" card but it proved not to be necessary.

The Christian Left The Christian Left : “The Liberal Media.” LOL! It’s corporate media folks. They tell you everything you want to hear to be good little consumers. Take a look at some of the big advertisers on corporate media. Boeing? When was the last time you were in the market for a 747? Boeing is one of the largest Military Industrial Complex contractors in the world. Pharmaceutical companies? No, they don’t rip off consumers. Never! On and on. Do you think the corporate media is going to do anything to upset their advertising clients? Not a chance.
