The video, released by the conservative Veterans for a Strong America, shows Joe Biden talking about the raid during a public event and Defense Secretary Robert Gates complaining that an agreement to keep the raid details secret “fell apart” as the result of such comments.

“Aaron called me,” Mrs. Vaughn says, referring to her son, Special Operations Chief Aaron Vaughn, who was killed on August 6, 2011. “He said, ‘Mom, you need to wipe your social media clean. Topeka – In accordance with Executive Order 10-12, Kansas Governor Sam Brownback has ordered flags to be flown at half-staff from sun-up to sun-down on Saturday, May 25 in honor of Sgt. 1st Class Trenton L. Rhea, who died Tuesday, May 14, 2013 while deployed to Kandahar Province, Afghanistan.

“I would like to offer my deepest sympathies to Sgt. 1st Class Rhea’s wife Leah, their three children, and to his entire family,” said Governor Brownback. “Sgt. 1st Class Rhea’s service to and sacrifice for his country will never be forgotten.”

Sgt. 1st Class Rhea was a member of the 603rd Military Policy Company, 530th Military Police Battalion, 300th Military Police Brigade, 200th Military Police Command, U.S. Army Reserve, Saint Joseph, Missouri.

Julie's Needle & Thread : This Saturday I'll be working an event for a local motorcycle club then Sunday I'll be back to Mugs & Jugs in Lehigh Acres (it's been a while!) and Monday being Memorial Day-I'll be with the American Legion Auxiliary Post K-11 as we will be honoring those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for this country. Also showing respect for the fallen will be the Desoto Honor Guard, Elks Lodge and other organizations. Ceremony will be held at the DeSoto County Courthouse at 11AM. I will be remembering SSG Chris Ward especially this Memorial Day who was killed in Afghanistan April 6th as well as my Uncle Richard who was killed in Cambodia June 16, 1970. Please remember that Memorial Day isn't just a holiday off of work or a time to BBQ-it's a time of showing you are grateful to be an American by showing honor and respect to those who fought and died protecting and defending our freedom.........despite all of it's faults-I still love this country and wouldn't want to live anywhere else. I agree this crime was beyond atrocious. It is sick and ugly and wrong to the highest decree. I equally respect your opinions and hear the points being screamed about mixing of race. I just cannot agree that race should not mix. Sorry my friends but my children go to school, mix and love others from every possible race denomination and they love them all. There is good and bad in every race and every belief. Equally and worse crimes have been committed by westerners in their countries so, what's the difference. Are people suggesting here that I turn my children against their friends or just tell them to watch their backs? I don't want to live in that kind of world.
The Australian thugs driving their cars at 190km down suburban streets are more a threat to my kids lives than the muslin living next door and by far out number them.

Tom Murda Mcdonald : As we get closer to memorial day, I get hit more and more by guilt, every year it's the same. I get an overwhelming feeling of guilt that I never did enough. The guilt of not being in Afghanistan now and never getting the opportunity to go after Iraq, the feeling of "I wish it was me and not that guy, he had a wife and kids...", the feeling that I can't do enough to support my brothers still fighting while I enjoy fast food and my own personal toilet...it's hard not to get sad and dwell in self loathing, but I owe it to the surviving families of our lost brothers to bite my lip, keep mowing and do what I can to make sure they never have to worry about being forgotten. It's Memorial Week, help honor our fallen.
