Molly Sue Kinnamon : Having a pretty nearly wonderful weekend at the VA horse trials. "MK Equestrian" has a wonderful group here and I'm super proud of how well everyone is doing and so thankful to be part of it all.
Jenny/Sabrina and Robyn/Annabelle are having a wonderful training level weekend- their xc course looks fabulous - I'm excited to watch them ride the hills tomorrow.
Maddie and Hannah both tackled their first ever CCI * course today and they were both so mature beyond their years with the day. Maddie jumped clean but took great care of her 19 year old partner Carson coming in with just a few time faults. Hannah and Zhen had a very unfortunate parting of ways 2/3 of the way around the course. True to Hannah form she kept MK Equestrian running smoothly the rest of the day and wouldnt have it any other way.
The Diesel Boy had a lovely Dressage and XC in a super talented class- currently still on his dressage of a 31...
Puttin on the RItz had his CCI * xc today and amazes me still with how well this BIG horse handles the terrain and course length. He has really grown into a wonderful xc horse and I unfortunately have to report that we had a "20" at a C element coming out of the water that is super bumming me out (and all of us that are Benny peeps). He was a really good boy, some day soon we'll show that on the score board as well!
Tomorrow's another day and we have more riding to do! 4 hours ago - View -

Niemuller Eventing : At the end of they day we finished 6th. A fabulous dressage test, one rail in stadium because I galloped him to much at one fence and he had to 'bunny hop' over it (SORRY KEGAN!), and a clear xc with tons of time though....... Long story short I have a lot to work on still... 6 hours ago - View -

Dana A Pedersen : The five principles each Western dressage student learns to master are collection, straightness, control of the front end, control of the hind end, and canter departures. First and foremost is collection, which Brainard defines as the state of the horse in which the forehand is relieved by the load transfer to the engaged hindquarters.
Nik Targett : Well one very long day, leaving yard at 5.45 am then hit major hold ups due to bad accident, got to the event by the skin of our teeth, good result for the little spotty JB 7th finishing on his dressage, looking forward to journey home made it partly up M4, THEN HAD A BLOODY FRONT TYRE PUNCTURE (THANK GOD NOT A SERIOUS BLOW OUT). One thing is we try to always look on the bright side, and still managed to have a giggle , A good day all in all. Thanks Guys for your help today XX 9 hours ago - View -

MidAtlantic Horse Rescue : Took Drifter to Olde Hope today, his first event there, third event ever- after an "energetic" start in which I decided to do dressage in my xc vest, he settled and put in a decent test for a 35.5 (but what happened to my nice upward transitions this year?). He jumped stadium very well but got "stuck" at the water- when he decides not to go, he won't go. He isnt afraid, it is just a decision he makes. So, we got a big E but finished up- thanks to everyone at Olde Hope for yet ANOTHER outstanding event- we will work on our "go" button and be back in a few weeks~ 12 hours ago - View -

Benridge Dressage : Ziggy's diary week 4,5 and 6:- Ziggy has Improved so much in the past three weeks. We have gone from a very nervous horse who wouldn't load into a trailer and needed to understand the boundaries when handling, to a horse who absolutely loved her first trip out to a dressage competition at Northallerton Equestrian Centre and showed immaculate behaviour. The new found discipline and confidence on the ground has really improved her performance when ridden. Instead of tensing and leaning on the leg Ziggy has started to step more confidently forward and listened to Esther's instructions which are made firmly and clearly then with reward once she responds. At their first competition under the training of Benridge Dressage, they scored 69.5% which is an amazing start. They are now BD potential and are aiming to compete at affiliated level shortly. 1 day ago - View -

Offspring photo of the week:
"HARRISON", 2012, 1st Premium Dutch warmblood colt,
Dam by: KRACK C Terry, the owner of Devon Heir, keeps posting this picture, to torment me. Next spring, I am going to breed Taylor and Ear's Mom's to him. But I don't want to breed this late. I am really really really hoping for a copy cat of this from Bertha, she has already given me one gorgeous black filly, and a second that is deep bay. With Chrome. SO HOPING!

Susan R. Bates : Definition of welfare of sentient beings( in regards to animals)
"Health, happiness, and future , including the right to safety and a terror free exisitence and end of life.."
IMHO, slaughter is none of the above, and anyone or any organization that thinks it is a solution has missed the message. "Humane slaughter" is an oxymoron, especially by those who breed or promote breeding. Many solutions have been offered up. Work on those solutions and quit trying to "kick the dead horse". It is possible with the right mindset, to come up with better solutions that benefit both the horses AND the image of the horse industry. 1 day ago - View -
