Amos the Wonder Horse : Woman faces neglect charge after detective locates starving thoroughbred in front yard Happy Friday! Whew! We all made it! Hope you have a wonderful weekend! I promise to post a happy picture soon, but I wanted to share something with you.
I received a message from a friend who asked me to share this. My new friends at Equestrian Inc. Equine Rescue just received four very sick horses. Here's a news story.
I know there are lots of anipals who need our help. You can help these horses by visiting their website or FB page. Or maybe there's a shelter or rescue in your area that you can help. Something as simple as a bag of carrots or feed is helpful. Or maybe you can volunteer - like I do - with a local charity.
(My PR Girl wants me to tell you that it's important to make sure that the charities you support are doing a good job with the donations they receive. You can be sure by checking them out on Guidestar or Charity Navigator. These sites show you how they spend their money and assure you that the charities are legitimate.)
I'm very sad for these horses and hope they get well soon. I'm going to say a prayer for them tonight.
The center, which celebrated its grand opening in April, was informed of the ongoing investigations of Piccadilly Circus by Long Island Orchestrating for Nature (LION), an active animal advocacy group on the island.

No matter what side of the AISLE you're on, THIS is FUNNY.
Judy Walkman, a professional genealogy researcher in southern California , was doing some personal work on her own family tree. She discovered that Senator Harry Reid's great-great uncle, Remus Reid, was hanged for horse stealing and train robbery in Montana, in 1889. Both Judy and Harry Reid share this common ancestor.
The only known photograph of Remus shows him standing on the gallows in Montana territory:
On the back of the picture that Judy obtained during her research is this inscription: 'Remus Reid, horse thief, sent to Montana Territorial Prison 1885; escaped 1887, robbed the Montana Flyer six times. Caught by Pinkerton detectives, convicted and hanged in 1889.'
So Judy recently e-mailed Senator Harry Reid for information about their great-great uncle.
Believe it or not, Harry Reid's staff sent back the following biographical sketch for her genealogy research:
"Remus Reid was a famous cowboy in the Montana Territory . His business empire grew to include acquisition of valuable equestrian assets and intimate dealings with the Montana railroad. Beginning in 1883, he devoted several years of his life to government service, finally taking leave to resume his dealings with the railroad. In 1887, he was a key player in a vital investigation run by the renowned Pinkerton Detective Agency. In 1889,Remus passed away during an important civic function held in his honor when the platform upon which he was standing collapsed."
Now THAT's how its done, folks! That's real Political Spin! 27 minutes ago - View -
