Mark Canfora : Obey!!!
Early on when I was struggling severely after my son Mark Jr went home to the Lord, I was trying desperately to emerge out of the valley of the shadow of death.
I had a life changing dream where I was seated in the back corner of a church and Jesus walked the center aisle, then came up to me and held my face. As I looked into His eyes---He said "Obey"....and then I heard Him say "Psalm 119" as I awoke. I put my Bible on CD in the player and OBEY my commands, precepts, ways, statutes, laws, etc. is in almost every verse. I counted them later and in Psalm 119 OBEY God's ways/directives is in there over 170 times. Never knew that before that dream, but I do now. Many times that is the time God gets my undivided attention. Love when God loves us and speaks in those ways.
"I will hasten and not delay to obey your commands."

Helen Ow Yoong : This is a serious matter. And you need to read this entirely.
George Barna wrote The State of the Church in 2002. Barna conducted a survey of self-pronounced Christians and here's what he found about their knowledge of the Bible.
Now, remember these are Christians...
- 48% could not name the four Gospels.
- 52% cannot identify more than two or three of Jesus' disciples.
- 60% of American Christians can't name even five of the 10 Commandments.
- 61% of American Christians think the Sermon on the Mount was preached by Billy Graham.
- 71% of American Christians think "God helps those who help themselves" is a Bible verse.
No wonder George Barna said, "Americans revere the Bible but, by and large they don't know what it says. And because they don't know it, they have become a nation of Biblical illiterates."
Listen, you may or may not be an American, I don't know.
But the point of the result of the survey is, you don't want to be a so called "Christian" but doesn't know what God's Word is.
You and I should consistently read, memorize, and meditate scriptures.
This way, you’re ready to defend our faith and encourage others through God's Word.
So get your Bible and start reading.
And don't stop in reading...memorize and meditate it throughout the day.
P.S. Remember, being in a garage doesn't make you a car. So is going to a Christian church doesn't make you a Christian.
Be a true Christian and real student of the Bible.

Jacqueline Noland-Dixon : Bible Verse Of The Day
Friday, July 25, 2014
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
The end result of the Holy Spirit's work in our lives is deep and lasting peace. Unlike worldly peace, which is usually defined as the absence of conflict, this peace is confident assurance in any circumstance; with Christ's peace, we have no need to fear the present or the future. If your life is full of stress, allow the Holy Spirit to fill you with peace.

Lord heal my broken marriage and save my unbelieving spouse : ask the Lord what word do you want me to say....to your standers. I opened up bible, looked down. Ezekiel 11. Heading above verse 14 "PROMISE OF RESTORATION" Then this verse jumped off the page:
"Therefore say to them, 'This is what the Sovereign Lord says: None of my words will be delayed any longer; whatever I say will be fulfilled, declares the Sovereign Lord.'" Ezekiel 12:28
But I the Lord will speak what I will, and it shall be fulfilled without delay.(vs 25a)
For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end.Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.Habakkuk 2:3

Hapax Paradidomi : When engaging with protestants in a discussion it is quite often that they will just cut and paste a verse without any explanation as if us catholics some how disagree with the verse. It needs to be understood that it is not the verse that we disagree with. It is the person's interpretation of that verse. I can say amen to any verse in the bible. But can I say amen to every single explanation of that verse? What really needs to take place is not that us catholics need to accept the verse, we already do. But rather the person putting it out there without an explanation needs to learn to recognize that there are multiple interpretations of the verse.
