Chuck Yeager : 1953: Test flew the MiG-15 the North Korean defector brought to South Korea. What struck me is it did not have a flying tail so could not go supersonic. This was six years after we (US) had discovered that little secret on the X-1. 16 hours ago - View -

James Goyder : 10 reasons why Crawley ISN'T a crap town Crawley has been included in a list of 50 crappest towns in Britain. So local rag Crawley News decided to come up with 10 reasons why Crawley isnt crap. The following quote was one of the reason, and is fucking epic!!
"8: It's location. We are within easy reach of London, without having to live there and risk getting stabbed every time you pop out for a pint of milk after dark. We are within easy reach of Brighton without having to inject heroin into our eyeballs if we want to fit in." 1 day ago - View -
Zaid Alam : Justice Katju Said "This is a very painful and agonizing period in history. The old feudal society is being uprooted and torn apart, but the new, modern, industrial society has not yet been entirely established. Old values are crumbling, everything is in turmoil. We may recollect the line in Shakespeare’s play Macbeth: “Fair is foul and foul is fair”. What was regarded good earlier e.g. the caste system is regarded bad today (at least by the enlightened section of society), and what was regarded bad earlier, e.g. love marriage, is acceptable today (at least to the modern minded persons)."---This is so very true. 1 day ago - View -
Shaun Harrison : Grant Olsen's Photos Mission accomplished! Me and Jennifer Vance Olsen just finished our dive expedition in northern Germany. My great-uncle's fighter plane was shot down here in 1944 and our family has never known what happened to it. A team of German researchers located a probable crash site last fall and we confirmed it yesterday when we found several pieces from his P-47. Here's a feature about our expedition from a German newspaper: My brother-in-law is on a scuba expedition in Germany to find parts of his Great Uncle's plane (shot down in WW2). He has made some discoveries at the crash site! 1 day ago - View -

A team of German researchers located a probable crash site last fall and we confirmed it yesterday when we found several pieces from his P-47. Here's a feature about our expedition from a German newspaper: Here's a Write-up in a German newspaper about my brother and his wife...they are on a scuba expedition in Germany in search of clues and parts of my Great Uncle's plane that was shot down in WW2. It's amazing...they have found quite a few parts at the crash site. Someone translated the article into English in the comments. I'm sure there will be many more details to come! Jason 父 Stammers : I have just remembered why I do not buy a newspaper anymore, within the first 4 pages of the currant bun (my old choice of paper) there is an article about Reggie Yates complaining there aren't enough black faces on prime time tv, well, if he can moan about that, I don't think there's enough fat people on prime time, or enough people from Essex, is that really news? Then Radstock Council in Somerset have decided that they will no longer fly the St. George's Cross flag as it may upset the local Muslims, instead they will fly the Union Jack, and when appropriate, the Rainbow Flag of the lesbian, gay, and transgender pride movement. Am I still in England?? 1 day ago - View -
Metro : Fresh tax questions for Amazon & Google The amount of money Amazon paid in corporation tax last year was almost completely cancelled out by a grant it received from the government.
While Amazon sells a lot of products to the British public, it is incorporated in Luxembourg so cannot be classed as a ‘permanent establishment’ in Britain. 2 days ago - View -

Najib Razak : The new Cabinet will be responsible for delivering transformation in Malaysia and continuing the economic and political reforms that began four years ago. The new ministers bring both the measured calm of experience, and the vibrant energy of new ideas; a grounding in anti-corruption and human rights law, and an appreciation for the dynamism of the private sector.
Over the past months and years, divisions have opened up in Malaysian society. Now it is time for all of us, in government and beyond, to put the bitterness behind us, and work towards national reconciliation – and national unity. It is in that spirit that I have asked these men and women to serve, not just as ministers, but as a unity Cabinet. Together we will act to bring about national reconciliation, secure Malaysia’s economic future, and build a stronger, more harmonious society. 2 days ago - View -
Brandon Patching : I know I'm gonna get slaughtered for this... called a racist, and I'm going draw hate from the left, but I'm going to say it any way, and, frankly, I don't care. Anyone who feels that Obamacare is worth the paper it's written on, please do a smidgen of research. It's HORRIBLE for everyone except those who legitimately can't afford insurance and those who can play the system well enough to make it look like they can't. And, let's face it, people who legitimately can't afford it already have a safety net. I just received the most disheartening letter I've ever gotten. The doctor who delivered two of my children and saved my wife's life has to close his practice because "impending national health care legislation" has made his & his partners' practice non viable financially. I'm betting he's not the only one out there. We are absolutely crushes. I bet we're not the only ones out there. 3 days ago - View -
