Lil Wayne : It was never my intention to desecrate the flag of the United States of America. I was shooting a video for a song off my album entitled "God Bless Amerika". The clip that surfaced on the Internet was a camera trick clip that revealed that behind the American Flag was the Hoods of America. In the final edit of the video you will see the flag fall to reveal what is behind it but will never see it on the ground. In most people eyes including my own who were raised in that environment, the Hood is the only America they know and the only America I knew growing up. I was fortunate from my God giving talents to escape the Hood and see the other beautiful places this country has to offer but most people who are born in that environment don't get that chance. That's their view of their America. That was Dwayne M Carter from Hollygrove New Orleans view of America. That's who I'm speaking for in this song.

Ron Haynes : I like to avoid political comments but this is one I cannot. This Father's Day weekend in Chicago there were 47 shootings (including my neighborhood)-9 are dead. In 2012 in Chicago (population 2.7 million) there 435 gun murders. In Britain (population 56 million) there were 58 in the entire year of 2011 (numbers for 2012 less). GUNS DO NOT SAVE LIVES!!!! Without guns, less people die! Period! Most of those deaths are handguns!

Rob Marinko : A woman was attacked and fatally stabbed in West Hills. She had taken precautions. She went to court and received an order of protection/restraining order, she notified police, she sought help from "experts," etc. She died a horrible death in broad daylight while neighbors stood by helplessly. I'm not necessarily against restraining orders. The problem is that they tend to give women a false sense of security. Firearms are not the answer in every circumstance, but are you ready to deny them to a person who is otherwise helpless to defend themselves?

Tripp Halstead Updates : Stacy: Must be this crazy weather today, lots of people including me got a little worked up today. Yes, we had to wait along time today, but I am 10000% positive those Drs and nurses were working their butts off. We lived there for 5 months and most of the time they never even got lunches. So I should of never wrote that post, but I was worried about Tripp's meds and him being hungry and I was really hungry and I knew we had therapy this afternoon. I am only human, so I got aggravated. But they were so sweet when our name was called, they switched out Tripp's GJ tube and we headed home. My next post was about the fundraiser. Chick fil a has been amazing to Tripp and lots of other children. And like many of you know, we don't ask for fundraisers or donations, kind hearted loving people get these together and THEN tell us about them and ask if we would share on our page. After all the work they have done, we are happy to share it, we also realize we have a large following so we try hard to help others. I know this is my son's page and I don't have to explain why I write the things I do, but I do want people to know I read your comments. Good and ugly. I am just a mom trying to do the best I can with the situation I was given. With over 700,000 people reading my posts, I know I can never make everyone happy or understand what a trying time this is for our family. I would give everything back to have my healthy boy back the way he was. I love him so very much and I am going to keep posting for the 99.9% of you that love him too. Thank you again for your prayers and positive comments.

"An expert with the university’s Department of Public Safety offered an obvious solution for such scenarios: glance and nod at the thugs. “A glance or a nod will help you show anyone who might think that you are not paying attention, and you are aware of their presence,” wrote detective Sharon Houlette.
Obviously, the only way a glance will be effective is if you summon laser beams to shoot from your eyes. One commenter reading a report at The Arkansas Project urging students not to follow such stupid advice said this:
Are you out of your flippin’ mind? Who makes this stuff up. I have been in law enforcement for 30 years and it astounds me how some people make a living telling others to just be a victim.
If this were my daughter and someone told her to “nod” I’d tell her to file a formal complaint alleging “stupid in a public place.”
But if unarmed UALR students follow Houlette’s advice, at least they can die with dignity. The same can’t be said of students who matriculate in Colorado — who’ve been advised to greet attackers by convulsing, puking, peeing themselves and just generally acting like damn fools."

Gun Rights : I don't support openly carrying a firearm. This does not mean I don't support your right to, but I don't think it's a good idea (unless you don't have a CCW permit). Here is why:

If you're in the middle of a store and someone comes in with the intention on killing everyone, you're his first target because you're the only one who could stop him; whereas if it were concealed you might be able to pull off a shot and take him down before he gets to you.

If you're in a store and someone has the intention on robbing it, you will be disarmed by him instantly (unless of course it's in your hand but realistically it won't be) whereas if it were concealed you wouldn't be disarmed and could use your firearm to possibly disarm him.

If you're a woman and someone tries to rape you, the firearm may be enough to deter the rapist but if the savage is determined enough and is stronger than you he could easily take it, whereas if it were concealed he wouldn't know where it is.
