I am the wife of an American Soldier. I am a supporter of the United States Army - an encouragement for the protectors of the greatest nation on earth. Because I am proud of my husband and the uniform that he wears, I will always act in ways creditable to him, the military service and the nation he is sworn to gaurd.I am proud of my husband. I will do all that I can to protect and provide for my family in his absence. I will be loyal to myhusband and to the vows that we made as we entered the covenant of marriage.I will do my full part to carry on the valuesand goals we have set apart for our family and I will continue to instruct our children in the same manner. As a soldier's wife, I realize that I play a vital role in my husband's decision to become a member of a time-honored profession - that I am doing my share to keep alive the principles of freedom for which my country stands. No matter what situation I am in, I will never do anything, for pleasure, profit, or personal safety, which will disgrace my husband, his uniform or our country.I will use every means I have to encourage my husband to be the best soldier that he can be.I am proud of my husband, my country and its flag.I will fly the flag and will always remember the sacrafices made by my husband and by generations of men and women that have served our beloved country. I will try to make my husband proud of the manner in which I accept his decision to defend my freedom andthe freedom of all American citizens -for I am the wife of an American soldier. 16 minutes ago - View -

Mark Ferri : Ponder this: When an American soldier is killed in the line of duty, his family eventually gets a flag and a note conveying sympathy and respect from the United States Government. When a pro basketball player announces he is gay, he immediately gets a personal phone call from the President congratulating him for his courage. Aren't you proud? 23 minutes ago - View -

Noisy but Nice on Edge Radio 99.3FM : a while back, i had a big chat with grant hart - a legend of the american indie music scene. grant played drums and shared songwriting duties in hüsker dü, one of the most influential punk rock groups of all time.
tune in tonight from 7pm on Edge Radio 99.3FM to hear what he had to say about a variety of topics: from cover versions of his own songs performed by green day and foo fighters; to his relationship with SST records and its founder greg ginn of black flag. 40 minutes ago - View -

Dawn Marcus Sparacio : One of the most poignant pictures I have seen from the Moore, OK disaster was on the Today Show this morning. Matt Lauer and Al Roker were standing in the midst of rubble that used to be someone's home. In the mess lay an American flag, folded and preserved in memorial for a family member who had served this country and given the ultimate sacrifice. Lauer said he was torn between wanting to take it someplace safe until the family claimed it and leaving it there. Common sense won out - they left it there knowing it would be the first thing the family would look for when they returned to dig out what was left of their lives. Good choice, Matt - and thank you for reminding us that respect for others is as important as lending a hand in the face of devastation. 45 minutes ago - View -

Michele Workman : Absolutely proud to be an Okie. Watching the devastating news coverage on this tragic event, prayers are still being prayed, thanks are still being given, people stop to help and support from the community tirelessly and the American flag is still raised and liberty flaps in the calm winds in the midst of the rubble. Just as it always is during these times, Okies take the time to help, support and rebuild lives. You're the reason God made Oklahoma. To all who have sent aid and driven in from other states, thank you. My prayers are with you, families. 49 minutes ago - View -
Liberals Stuck in Conservative HELL : Why Rational People Buy Into Conspiracy Theories "“The best predictor of belief in a conspiracy theory is belief in other conspiracy theories,” says Viren Swami, a psychology professor who studies conspiracy belief at the University of Westminster in England. Psychologists say that’s because a conspiracy theory isn’t so much a response to a single event as it is an expression of an overarching worldview.
As Richard Hofstadter wrote in his seminal 1965 book, “The Paranoid Style in American Politics,” conspiracy theories, especially those involving meddlesome foreigners, are a favorite pastime in this nation. Americans have always had the sneaking suspicion that somebody was out to get us — be it Freemasons, Catholics or communists. But in recent years, it seems as if every tragedy comes with a round of yarn-spinning, as the Web fills with stories about “false flag” attacks and “crisis actors” — not mere theorizing but arguments for the existence of a completely alternate version of reality." 52 minutes ago - View -
